Video: Best of Jon Hamm On Saturday Night Live

Video: Best of Jon Hamm On Saturday Night Live

So once again, Jon Hamm hosted Saturday Night Live because America doesn’t have enough hot actors/musicians/athletes that can memorize lines in a week without staring blankly at cue cars to act as guest stars. Our luck, because Jon made the show funny again, as he is wont to do. After last week’s bummer with Emma Stone, we really needed a pick me up, and maybe it’s just the juxtaposition of someone being so seriously handsome and yet so very good at comedic timing, but we wouldn’t mind if Hamm hosted every week. Below, our favorite sketches, though for the record: the motorcycle cop/gay kiss bit kind of proved Liana’s point that SNLis going for the really easy gay jokes lately. More »

Gallery: Celebrities Get Spooky for Halloween

Gallery: Celebrities Get Spooky for Halloween

Even though Halloween is technically tonight, famous people (like the rest of us), have jobs on Monday! So time to celebrate early, with a gallery of our favorite stars and their bizarre, intricate, and sometimes downright lazy costume choices. Rachel Zoe didn’t even bother to get dressed up this year, d’oi. Vinny and Pauly D. from the Jersey Shore went as “normal people.” And we’re not really sure what Kendra Wilkinson or Carmen Electra are doing, but it scares us. Check it out! More »

Stalk Exchange: Olivia Munn’s Junk Bonds Are On the Rise

Stalk Exchange: Olivia Munn's Junk Bonds Are On the Rise

Outside of Attack of the Show fans, Olivia Munn was relatively unknown before this year. But when Jon Stewart picked her to be a new correspondent on The Daily Show, he inadvertently stepped on feminist minefield. Soon bloggers and comedy writers were at war, mostly over the assertion that Munn was hired more for her looks than her comedic chops.

It’s been about four months since Munn joined The Daily Show, and while she’s been mostly unremarkable as a correspondent, she’s got a big gig this weekend, and there are more than a few signals lately that Jezebel’s issue with The Daily Show’s Woman Problem can’t keep the girl down. More »

Daily WTF: Emma Roberts’ Crocodile Shadow

Daily WTF: Emma Roberts' Crocodile Shadow

Yesterday while Emma Roberts was out shopping in Beverly Hills, a man with a giant crocodile mask followed her around and shadowed her movements for the afternoon. As far as we can tell from the gallery of photos that resulted from the random guy’s antics, Emma had no idea that this was happening behind her as the paparazzi snapped away.

But at least she’s better off than the dude who has nothing better to do than wander around behind Emma Roberts for a day mimicking her mannerisms… More »

Rant: I Barely Know You. Please Stop Asking Me For Money.

Rant: I Barely Know You. Please Stop Asking Me For Money.

The internet has made it amazingly easy to share things. Also, to ask for things. Like favors and charitable donations.

Asking for money online is a lot better than doing it in person. And between services like Kickstarter and PayPal, microdonations are helping people raise large amounts of money for great (and not so great) causes. And that is just fine with me.

But like most any human interaction, people need to exercise a little restraint before sending out their money grubbing emails.

Crush This is your weekly guide to what’s coming up in music, movies and TV in the next week. CMJ is over and New York will certainly miss the buzz of a million concerts going on, but there is a lot to look forward to in the following week…espeically on television.

For those of you who are still grieving the loss of Mad Men, there is a faint light at the end of the tunnel. Jon Hamm is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend with Rihanna as musical guest! I mean, it won’t be just like watching Don Draper, but sometimes in hardships one must make sacrifices. But that is not all SNL has to offer this upcoming week… More »

The Four Loko Test Drive Taste Test

The Four Loko Test Drive Taste Test

Four Loko is the color of glow sticks. You likely didn’t know this, since you’ve been drinking the magical elixir from a can. Or, more likely, you haven’t manned up and downed a serving of the stuff.

The mainstream media coverage of Four Loko has generated a lot of hype, as well as the ceaseless circulation of meaningless terms like “blackout in a can” and “liquid cocaine.” I’d take a guess and say that most of the anchors reporting on the drink haven’t themselves experienced the can-induced blackout. So for the sake of journalism, I’ve taken the plunge. More »

Crazy Stuff From China Fashion Week

Crazy Stuff From China Fashion Week

Just like the old expression goes: “It’s Fashion Week somewhere, so there’s always an excuse to post totally batshit insane photos on our blog.” Today, the lucky country is China, where models have been strutting the runways in floral hats, Marilyn Monroe-print gowns, metallic one-piece bathing suits and stuffed iguanas. Enjoy!

101: Living Free Off Of Party Favors

101: Living Free Off Of Party Favors

We here at Crushable go to a lot of parties, some of them fun, some of them awkward, but most of them involving free food and booze. I’ve written in the past about spending 6 broke-ass months as a freelance blogger, where my only means of sustenance most nights were those tiny little trays of hot dogs and chicken satay. In fact, my version of heaven involves an open bar and thousands of hot caterers walking around with bat-mitzvah food. More »

5 New Reasons To Love Jenny Slate

5 New Reasons To Love Jenny Slate

When Lorne Michaels added Jenny Slate to his list of Saturday Night Live castmembers who would not reappear on the show this season, you could safely say we were disappointed. She was one of our favorite new additions to the cast last season. But we’re starting to think she got the boot for exceeding their limit of awesomeness. Since leaving the show, Jenny has appeared on HBO’s Bored To Death, created the geniosity that is Marcel The Shell, and relaunched an awesome web series with her best friend and comedic partner Gabe Liedman. Today she gave New York magazine a rundown of everything she ate in the last week. And in addition to learning she hates celery (like all self-respecting humans), we now we have five new reasons to love Jenny Slate. More »
