Big Brother 8 - Thoughts About the House Guests

Jameka

I don’t know about you, but I have become totally addicted to watching Big Brother 8. I watch the show, the live feeds and Showtime’s After Dark. I wish the show went on for much longer than it does….

But with all the watching, I’ve begun to form some really strong opinions about some of the house guests. (I’ll share mine, then I hope you’ll comment to share yours.)

Jameka: I’ve begun to see that she’s definitely not the oldest in years, but she’s very much the wisest of the house guests. She listens with attention and respect to everyone. She is the one they all know will give them good, solid advice and she’s got a great spirit of fun! I love her!

Even Evil Dick came to her for advice about how to talk to Danielle and told her that the advice she gave him was very good and that he would try to use it. She leads many of the games the house guests play in the evenings and has coined a phrase that they all use in the house now. “Let’s stamp it!” That means that it’s been determined to be true and needs no more discussion. Very cool!

She keeps a level head at all times. I’ve never seen her lose her cool and she’s so kind. But right now, the rest are all jockeying for position and she just might slip into the finals under the radar. Watch her, she’s not covered that much in the network show, but she’s definitely a great player. I predict she won’t be leaving the house any time soon.

Eric (America’s Player): he’s another player that I have truly come to like a lot. He has the funniest sense of humor and there seems to be absolutely no animosity about him. No one so far sees him as a threat because he’s so easy going. And the fact that no one has even suspected that he’s the one that has been doing all the strange tasks in the house (like mustard on Jen’s pillow…) says a lot for how much they all like and trust him. He’s the perfect player to be our America’s Player! Watch for him to be around for a long time.

And I’ve noticed that Eric tends to be the guy all the girls “take a shower with.” It’s a two-stall shower where they can talk to each other and kid around while each is showering in their separate stall. He is so easy-going, I guess they all trust him that way. (You certainly won’t see them do that with Zach!)

Dustin: he leads the girls in their “abs” work every day and he’s a real task-master, in a good way. I suspect that if he wasn’t gay, he’s have several interested in him for a showmance, he’s so cute and funny. He too listens well and keeps his cool when the others need to vent. He is liked by most all of the houseguests, even the Kail group. I expect him to be around for a while.

Nick: he’s gone from being trusted by most in the house, to being distrusted by most in the house. Everyone has realized that he seems to be playing them all. Not only did he join Kail’s alliance, then play the other side against her, but now he just seems to be telling everyone what they want to hear. The word is, that he may go up on the block before long.

However, I don’t think he’s kidding about his feelings for Daniele. He seems to truly care about her (or at least want to get her in the sack…) We’ll see how long Nick stays around. He’s not as good a player as he thinks he is.

Jen: They all hate her. She’s totally narcissistic and self-important, but they have come to see that if they keep her in the game, she distracts from each of them. They also know that if they go to the end with her, they will most likely win. And no one wants to be in the jury house with her. She’s the one that everyone watching probably either hates or loves. She’s polarizing, for sure.

And, speaking of polarizing:

Evil Dick: He’s the most fun to watch, in my opinion. He’s such a character!! Last night, as After Dark signed off, Amber was touching up the red highlights in his spiked hair before tonight’s live show. And the other day, he went around asking the girls if he could use some black or red nail polish. And the clothes he wears… LOL!

And here’s the interesting thing. He and Daniele have been forced to deal with each other after a two-year estrangement. Dick is a fumbling communicator and Daniele is young and rebellious…the two are a volatile match and sometimes emotional for me to watch as a mother of grown children. Some of their struggles are a bit too familiar… But my sincere hope is that this experience helps them to mend their relationship once they are out of the house. They have agreed (At Dick’s suggestion) to go to family counseling together after the show ends. I wish them so much luck with that. I hop it works.

But Dick has managed to make every member of the household annoyed with him in one way or another. He talks to everyone as if he’s the house leader and knows what everyone will and should do, when most of the time, they keep him in the dark. I hope he stays for a long time because he’s fun to watch, but he’s done such a good job of annoying the rest that he may not.

Kail: She started the “Mrs. Robinson” alliance on the first day in the house and it promptly fell apart and the others turned on her. Then she started lying and playing the “poor little me, I was betrayed” act and it’s really annoying to me to watch. The others are starting to see through her too. Dustin says that her stomach looks like she’s had plastic surgery so she must come from money and they all think she’s playing them. Jameka thinks there’s much more to her than she lets on. (See? Jameka rocks!) She’s pretty much burned all her bridges so far and probably won’t be around much longer, but this week the group is getting rid of Mike.

Mike: He doesn’t talk much, he doesn’t open up much and the others don’t trust him. And after the nutty thing he did during the POV competition, they all think he needs to go. He did it to himself.

Zach: He’s a pervert. He constantly says disgusting and disrespectful things to all the girls. They talk about him and make fun of him all the time. I personally can’t stand the guy. He’s manipulative and I think it’s horrible that the girls have to put up with all his gross and sexually explicit, suggestive remarks. And they all say that he constantly puts his hands all over them. I thing the Big Brother folks should sit him down and tell him to behave himself. His behavior is totally unacceptable. I hope he goes soon. (And I think all the girls do too.) Even the guys don’t like him. We’ll see how soon he goes.

Daniele: She’s the youngest one in the house. She even lied to everyone so they would think she was a year older. (Shows her immaturity.) But she does seem to be a sweet person and everyone seems to like her except Jen, so she will probably be around for a while too.

Amber: She’s so emotional; it’s almost over the top. She is likeable and they all do like her, but she has decided that Dick needs to go. She’s like the fun sister to everyone in the house and has a ton of fun little sayings that she teaches to them all, but if she stays for a long time, she may just have a break-down. I hope she gets the hang of controlling her emotions soon, or they might send her home.

Jessica: My opinion of her has totally changed since Carol was evicted. Now that Carol’s gone, she’s a funny person that seems to get along with most everyone. She and Eric have a funny, bantering way of joking with each other and is the first to join the guys in drinking games. I expect her to be around a while too. She’s another one that may fly under the radar for a while.

So what are your thoughts about the house guests? Who do you love? Who do you hate? Leave a comment to let us know!

I just did a similar trio of posts over at Big Brother Craze.com where in my typically verbose fashion I gave all my opinions on the houseguests. You and I agree pretty much – though WAHmber has to go. She’s a backstabbing little witch and if the houseguests don’t start seeing through her crap I’ma have to reevaluate everyone again.

I love love LOVE Jessica and Eric together. I’ve loved Eric since the beginning, and hated Jessica (that VOICE) but now? They took a 3 hour bubblebath in the HOH room, and I haven’t seen that much “cute” in one place since my kids were little enough to bathe together! (Sorry Eric’s Girlfriend! Unless you’re Jessica-like, I gotta vote for them to get together after the show! *g*)

I liked Dustin to begin with – but this week, he’s showing a different side. I will like him again if I find out he’s playing WAHmber, dumps her as sidekick and goes his own way.

I adore Evel Dick and hope he can tone it down and pull himself out of the hole he dug this week. I had such high hopes for this week! Alas…

Yes, I’m totally addicted, clearly! Part of me is VERY GLAD it’s only a 3 month commitment to live and breathe Big Brother. *L*

I pretty much agree with you here, although I think Amber is a two-faced witch and her constant babble is irritating.I love ED and I hope he’s around for awhile. His game is slipping a little bit,so he’d better tighten it up.Jameka is another fave and it’s a shame we don’t see that much of her.I’m obsessed with BB after dark, what a guilty pleasure!
