Although paparazzi snapped pictures of Shia LaBeouf kissing a “mysterious new brunette” yesterday, she isn’t just a one night stand. Shia and Karolyn Pho have been together since at least December, when they were photographed coming out of an L.A. pizzeria. So who is the lucky low-key lady?
1. She’s a stylist
Although Shia has dated actresses in the past – most notably Carey Mulligan – he went for someone who wasn’t a performer this time around. That explains her great style – most recently, she was snapped in a chic printed maxidress.
2. She’s a California girl
Karolyn was raised in a Vietnamese-American family in Anaheim (in nearby Orange County) and attended Canyon High School before moving up to L.A. for her career.
3. She’s smart about social media.
Unlike some chicks who date famous guys and then have embarrassing moments come back to haunt them, Karolyn seems to have thought ahead. She reportedly took down her MySpace and Facebook pages when she hooked up with Shia.
Updated 7/7/2011: Shia said in an interview that he and Karolyn met at the Red Lion karaoke bar in the Echo Park neighborhood of L.A.
