On May 18th, a glowing and very pregnant Nicole Kidman attended the Country Music Awards with her husband Keith Urban. I love this picture of her showing off her belly. She really does look happy to be pregnant doesn’t she? I am so excited for these two and am hoping this is one Hollywood marriage that does last.
Urban was up for all nomination in all the major categories this year, but he met some stiff competition. He was nominated alongside Kenny Chesney for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the year. Did urban win any awards? Sadly, no, but at least he had a beautiful wife and soon-to-be born baby to go home with!

Hana: “Especially when it has nothing to do with Bella and Connor?” I sure hope that was a typo, because Nic is the MOTHER, despite what Katie and Cruise will have you believe.
Anon: I can’t speak for Hana but I think she meant that we should only be discussing NK/KU here if for example that pic of them at the CMA’s had them with Bella and Conor.
I agree with that………….We know that NK is their mother.
Katie says they call her Mom as well, nothing wrong with that and she has said that they are wonderfully giving children and that speaks to how they were raised.

Tia, I wouldn’t say anything to lash out at anyone, but nice try. I didn’t say she’s mean or spiteful. If I can borrow a word or two from Lauren, “I’m sure” she’s a very nice person. I just said she’s naive. How can anyone possibly argue that point? I can’t quote from another blog site, but in a recent interview she did respond to critics in a very immature way.
Tyler, I think you can post what she supposedly said though.
The last interviews KH did was for MM and I can’t recall anything remotely immature in her responses but I could be mistaken.
I do recall her saying that what is normal for them is normal for them.

In response to Hana’s post, this site is supposed to be about discussion. No one is forced to read any of it. I love how people want to make up the rules as if they own this site.
Then it’s from the interview in VF with the first pics of Suri and KH said there’s a lot of S**t floating around out there.
In her MM interviews she hardly addressed the critics and from the coverage KH gets with everything she says or does any use of colorful language by her would be all over the Internet.
Yeah, that’s the one I was talking out. You got it. Maybe that was before she was fully trained by Cruise’s camp.
Mary, I’m sorry. Did I read that correctly in that you said there is nothing wrong with Bella and Connor calling Katie “Mom”. There certainly is everything wrong with that. My kids called their stepmom Lori. I am the only MOTHER they are going to have. If she had even attempted to have them call her mom you would still see the fur flying 18 years later!!!! She didn’t and actually we got along after a few years…Nicole is their mom and deserves that title ALONE. They can be as close to Katie as they desire but they have ONE mom and I think it is insulting for Katie or any of the clan to even say they call her ‘Mom’. That is a direct slap at Nicole. And this site is for all things related to Tom Cruise and his children. He may WISH to erase Nicole but she is Bella and Connor’s mom and as such is not going away.
Right on CM. I had a problem with that the first time I read about it. Another example of how naive KH is.
When it was first revealed by Katie in that Parade magazine interview that Bella and Conor called her Mom too they were many whose opinion was similar to CM’s, others who felt as I do and still others who were on the fence about it.
What I do agree with was that maybe Katie should have thought a little more about revealing something as personal as that but her answer leading into saying that was about how generous and kind Bella and Conor were and she used that as an example…..In hindsight maybe not the best move.
At some point though some reporter in some interview would have asked her and or Tom and or Nicole about it and now we know the answer.

She didn’t say anything about “other mom.” There was no doubt about what she was trying to say. I’m going to say not intentional because everyone says she’s such a nice person, but definitely immature and thoughtless.

Again, I think she was just trying to show just how thoughtful and kind Bella and Conor are. As I said it was not the best example in hindsight but at some point all the principals involved would have been asked about it.
I doubt that Connor and Bella really do call her “mom”. After all they live with their aunt full time. Then they were away at cos camp all last summer AND tc and kh spent the majority of the last year on the road. When did they have time to bond to that level?
I know it’s a ways back. But I can tell you the only gossip we get about NK in Australia is her ongoing battle with a papparazzi in Australia who bugged her house and followed her on vacation to the beach, and trespassed on her property. That’s about it. She certainly isn’t more open to the Aussie media, or more active down under at all.
I meant, the discussion about Nicole being open in the Aussie media is a ‘ways back’ up the thread.
Oh and Tia – Tom Cruise sold out on his 8 month old daughter for a cover of Vanity Fair. But if you listen to his reasoning, it was because he believed that publication had the integrity to represent his story truthfully. Don’t you think NK may have made a decision based on the same reason?

Are we talking about NK interview about her past over a decade later, for a publicity…not carry about what her teenage children might feel or think? Going on on about how they come to adopt Bella and that she is yearning to have a baby…she would be very sad if she wasn’t able to have a baby? If I was her kids I would be very offended by that.
Is that what we’re talking about? If so there were no story going on about that subject at the time when NK did that interview, no one asked her about it…she kept this private for over 15 yrs and that stuff was not just hers to share like that, there are other people and children involved. I would understand if she was pregnant at the time and people wanted to know why she didn’t have a biological child with Tom but still she should have chose her words carefully without making her kids sound like a “second class citizens”.
Tom has never said anything about NK or the past and I’m sure its to protect Bella and Connor’s feelings. Whenever the media ask him about Suri his baby as if she is the only one, he always made it clear he has an older daughter already and a son.
And now you are comparing that to Tom Cruise giving FREE pics of his daugther to VF after he was litrichly bullied into it? Thanks to the many celebrities before him who sell their children pics to the media….because of that trend he was some how expect to show her off. And yes he had a good reason too after the tabs and the media had their say (calling Suri disabled, deformed, Alien…)…please tell me you not comparing this two.

TC plastering photos of his kid (which he wasn’t BULLIED into doing, they specifically selected VF and Annie Liebowitz) is pretty much the same (well, I think worse) as NK answering questions that were put to her by VF (and I highly doubt she screened them, unlike our fave celebs here).

Yes, he selected VF (and AL was the only photographer to ever photograph Connor and Bella too) to show 8 family pics, after an outcry from the tabs and bloggers. Calling him, his wife and child all sort of things…I call that bullying.
I’m not even going to comment on NK anymore…I found myself going in circles there.

Bumblebeej: Annie Liebowitz is the only photographer ever to take pictures of Cruise’s children.
There were websites offering rewards to anyone who could provide a pic of Suri…………..One even offered $25,000.00 for such a pic. Stories were circulating/published that Suri was deformed, didn’t exist etc.
The information that NK provided was not asked of her, she gave it up. As an example, no one was aware that she was engaged to another after her divorce from Cruise.
The information about her miscarriages and how they came to adopt Bella was not hers alone to make public. There is an ex husband who has made it a point to protect her privacy and not speak of it when it came to all of that and older children to think of as well.
I made a mistake with the amount ………….It was $100, 000.
So, we are giving $100,000 to anyone who can give us the first, exclusive, original, clear video of baby Suri with her mom or dad! Professional papparazzis, photojournalists and YOU now have the same chance of making the big bucks (and getting massive exposure) through Break.com.

I believe they have both made statements that were insensitive where their kids are concerned. Each spoke of motherhood and fatherhood as if it were the first time for them. It’s a sign of how self-centered people are in Hollywood. I remember after Suri was born Tom said he was never happier because he always wanted to be a father. Well, guess what. You already were a father!! NK has made similar statements more recently. They made me cringe. Hopefully, she has a good relationship with them.

Tom always speaks about how much he has always wanted to be a father and how much he loves being one.
I can’t believe we are gpoing round in the same circles arguing about the same things. Tyler in that same interview and same breath, Tom said what he felt about all his children. Choosing one line out of context and criticising him is so typical of of his critics.
Mary that was on one advert, there were rumours that agencies were willing to pay as much as $2mln. If Tom had shown a picture of Suri, just one, am sure the same people would have continued saying she was deformed and did not exist.
It says a lot that Tom did not sell pictures of Suri when he could have made so much money and pretended to give it to charity for PR reasons. To some, TC will never win.
Mary, so does Nicole. They’re both parents to Connor and Isabella. They both remember it. They both love the kids. I’m sure of that.
Whatever you say, TC and KH created the media frenzy around Suri by never publishing a photograph for eight months. As much as I think that celebs are self serving by courting their publicity, most celeb parents get one photo out there just to calm the INEVITABLE frenzy around the birth of their child so that they don’t get stalked and this kind of frenzy doesn’t happen. IMO (and it’s my opinion only), TC and KH liked the fact they were creating a ‘frenzy’, otherwise they would have released a photo earlier.
And if you think TC was ‘bullied’, then NK was ‘bullied’ too. There were rumours that her marriage to TC was a sham, that the children she miscarried weren’t his, and that she’s a bad parent, and that her boyfriend is an alcoholic, etc etc etc etc etc.
Mud gets slung on every celeb in Hollywood. They should all learn to live with it, after all, they all claim that they don’t read the tabs.
I just can’t believe you blindly think that one celeb (TC) is justified in splashing his life on glossy pages, and the other (NK) is not. Regardless of WHAT reason, it’s all self serving and publicity, full stop. They’re both as bad as each other.

On Bella and Connor calling Katie mom, they are grown kids who can make their own decisions. Again, we don’t know in which context Katie told the interviewer that they call her mom. May be she was asked, maybe it was in the flow of coversation. Magazines are in this for money and anything to sensationalise something they will do.
Didn’t Nicole also say she has was desperate for a child as if she did not have children already? I am sure she loves her children, but if she had harsh critics, they could have made a big deal over her very publicised efforts to concieve.
Katie may be sweet and girl next door, but she is not naive by a long mile. She is just not a hardened cynic like many but I have not read anything she has done or said to warrant the ‘immature’ label. Paris is one or two years younger than Katie, can you compare the two? Has Katie even stuck her finger out like many celebs? Been found drunk? Slurred her words in interviews?
Immature is too harsh for some one who has behaved with calm, class and diginity in the face of all this maelstorm.

Bumblebeej Nk and TC have been divorced for almost 8 years what purpose did it serve her to speak about things that are 15 years old and they have both moved on and married to other people.
Don’t you think she said enough in 2001 when almost every week there was a quote from her on her misery and still eight years after she still has to repeat those comments and say more.

of the spotlight, there is no law that says they had to release a pic, as it stands they did release pictures.
What media has a right to put an amount for a picture of a baby and then suggest to the public that they are owed the right to a picture.
KH as passive, I think not………..She has said that she will not validate rumors and from the beginning of her relationship with Tom has shown a strength that many doubted she had.
Lauren, Tia and Mary, your loyalty to tc is truly AMAZING. You have all gone to great lengths to post what you all think is proof that he can do no wrong.
Much of what you quote can be taken either way, depending on which mag it is taken from or which part of the quote you use.

Again, with a master’s degree in law from a top university, I do not attach so much importance to academic achievements. I respect what every one says no matter their education. I do not think less of any one for not going to University or college. TC was 19 when he made it big, why bother to go to drama school? Which university did Einstein attend? Didn’t Bill Gates drop out of school too, do you disregard everything he does? I see you are using a computer, meaning you are happy to use some of his illiterate effort. We go to school to learn more, why go there to learn what he is already excellent at? I imagine he would have gone there to study drama, he has done more than many people with Phds in drama.

as for tc’s intelligence, my opinion is based on what he has said in interviews that are indisputably asinine i.e. ‘narcanon is the ONLY drug treatment program that works’ ‘it is a statistically proven fact’ ‘all psychiatry is evil’ to mention a few. my opinion has nothing to do with the fact that he dropped out of h/s and had dyslexia…as i’ve said before, a degree is not necessarily a reflection of intelligence
now, as for tc not needing drama school… i don’t know about that. he acquired a certain measure of success, but i do think that he could have worked more to become more of a versatile actor perhaps. one does not need a ph.d. to act shakespeare. he could have studied theatre, mime, improv, singing, even literature. tc certainly has room to learn more.

i agree that intelligence and eduation can be mutually exclusive. when i refer to tc as a high-school dropout, i refer to this behavior. he has a very myopic view of the world.

If it is relevant, I did my masters because it was relevant to acquire the knowledge and expertise for my job. Why would Tom Cruise do a degree in his chosen field when he was on top already?
Every one says things that do not come across as they mean them. It is just that celebrities have a misfortune of being quoted on everything. I can quote many psoters here and if that was broadcast, I doubt many would call them bright. I mean someone thinks there are two Suri’s. How about that!

lauren, i am sure tc’s true colors came out during both the matt lauer interview and the cute scientology recruiting video that leaked onto you tube. i am sure that he’s sorry now that he was so honest with his opinions. i am sure that he meant every word though. he said that he wants a world in which there are no more “SP”s. if you’re to be believed, that includes you. of course, if you’re one of “his” then you’re okay. you can stay.
Tyler, you are entitled to your own opinion. But I dare you to go on national TV and say even a fraction of the things you say on the internet and ask what the public thinks about you. The mere fact that you camp at the site of a celebrity you hate says a lot. Now that can easily give people ideas about what kind of person you really are.
I don’t care about those videos one bit, I hold his views on drugs, but like he said, every one has a right to decide. I am glad he has apologised to Brooke Shields, he was out of line on that. Past is past, move on. What moral high does one have when they hold a grudge over something that happened three years ago and was apologised for? Such a person should not criticise any one.
Those scientology videos were private and to use them out of content to ridicule Tom was cheap and wrong. Well it came and it went, Tom is still here and still smiling. I have seen evangelicals say worse and call fire and death upon non believers, attack gays and curse others. Every one is free to believe what they want. FYI, Spreading hate on Tom and his family is no better.
Like you said, Tom has Scientology to thank for his achievements and he was just doing that.
