I am still waiting on a video clip, but Billy Ray Cyrus was on the Today Show and he opened up about the Vanity Fair photo shoot with his daughter Miley Cyrus. I have been wondering what Miley’s parents reaction was and Billy Ray tells us how surprised he was at what happened.
“I didn’t know they were going to strip her down and wrap her in a blanket.” He told America’s The Today Show: “I was surprised when I saw [the topless shot] but, hey, that’s life. Stuff happens.”
He sounds a bit more laid back about it than I expected, but he has had awhile to think about it. I still believe it wasn’t Miley’s fault and that she shouldn’t be blamed for the Vanity Fair thing. She was following the direction of a very famous photographer who was supposed to know what she was doing.
Anyway, enough about that. When I get my hands on the video clip I will post it because Billy Ray also talks about several others things.

Acting Career
2001: At the age of nine Miley acted for the first time. She made a guest appearance on her father’s TV show “Doc”.
2003: Miley had a small role as “Young Ruthie” in Tim Burton’s movie “Big Fish”. At this stage she was being credited as Destiny Cyrus.
2004: Miley was 12 when she first auditioned for the role of “Miley Stewart” for Disney’s “Hannah Montana”. Although the casting directors and Disney bosses didn’t choose her at first, her persistance merited a call-back, and she got the role.
2006: Miley began starring on The Disney Channel as “Miley Stewart” and her alter ego “Hannah Montana” in the TV show “Hannah Montana”. Her real-life father, Billy Ray Cyrus, plays her father on the TV show. The show catapulted Miley to fame and she is now a house-hold name across the United States.
In 2006 she also had a small role in the Disney movie “High School Musical 2″ as a girl by the poolside.
2008: Miley appears in the Hannah Montana movie “Best of Both Worlds Concert”.
“The Hannah Montana Movie” is to be released in 2009.
Singing Career
2006: Miley’s first studio album “Hannah Montana” was released by Walt Disney records.
June 2007: Miley released double album – “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus” where the first CD is a soundtrack of the show, and the second her debut as a recording artist. She credited herself as Destiny Hope Cyrus.
Miley’s second studio album is being released on July 22nd.
