A “Saved by the Bell” movie in the works? Dear God, why?

Appparently, some folks who REALLY REALLY REALLY liked the ’90′s show started a petition to get a movie going. Yes, someone actually spent time and effort to put this together. The movie won’t be like a “where are they now”, like the Brady Bunch Christmas special (was anyone else just waiting for Jan to announce she was a big bull dyke? Because I know I was), but rather a movie based on the show’s characters. Because, you know, they were so LAYERED and all, that it will take an entire movie to explore the complexities and subtle nuances. Sweet Baby Jebus.
