Actress Miriam Margolyes, who plays Professor Sprout, has somewhat of a sad story to share regarding her coming out as a lesbian to her mother. Here’s what she had to say:
”I spoke to her about an affair with a woman and three days later she had this stroke,’ she said. I realised it was a mistake on my behalf. It was an indulgence of me to tell her that. I was very shocked about what had happened to my mother since it began this terrible illness and led to this very black time in my life.”

She goes on to say that this experience made her very hesitant to share anything about her sexuality, especially in the press, since she might have been pigeonholed as “that lesbian actress”.
Personally, I don’t WANT to know about actors’ sex lives. I figure that by the time you get past all that is in a person, their personality, their character, etc., what they do with their sexual organs is really irrelevant. What do you think?
