A Work of Art

In ‘The Festival of Living Art‘, which was based on a real art festival and, in this episode, on actual artwork, is one of my favorite episodes in Gilmore Girls. So beautiful! I could talk about Luke & Nicole and their agreement to “date”, but I don’t want to. I just want to look at the masterpiece of this episode once again!

Lorelai is shown above posing in Pierre-August Renoir’s “Dance at Bougival” while Rory, shown below, is “Antea” by Parmigianino. You can read more about these works of art here. This episode, to me, is a work of art.

Lauren shared that this episode is one of her favorites in this video:

As many of you know, this festival is based upon a real event, the Pageant of the Masters. Here is a behind-the-scenes look at the 2009 festival:

I too love this episode! :) And I love how Sookie is so anxious to get the baby out, it’s just a wonderful episode! Though I also love ‘Love, War & Snow’ (one of Keiko’s favs.) Saw it last night, it is just so beautiful, and I love how jealous Luke is of Lorelai & Max:)

I love this episode, the artworks were jaw dropping. It should be noted that they won an emmy for this for make up, well deserved
