As we mentioned a couple of months ago, ABC Family is gearing up to air Gilmore Girls Season 7 for the first time on its network starting on June 8th.
I’ve seen a lot of people on Twitter and on the blog here being mislead by ABC Family’s commercials, however. While ABC Family is talking about airing a “brand new season” of Gilmore Girls, what they really mean is “brand new to them”. They are airing Season 7, not a new season of Gilmore Girls. Don’t we wish!

We are watching the ‘final’ season on an overseas network, have really enjoyed the series and hope they do more with our girls soon!
Ugh. I wanted a season 8.
I just wanted to say that I was so heartbroken to find that it was just a misleading advertisement by ABC Family……I even ran to my facebook and wrote the info on my wall….then I felt like a complete idiot when my friends told me they were talking about season 7!!!! At least make a Gilmore Girls movie because of there carelessness!!!

I knew it wasnt true because i have seen her myspace and she wrote a blog about how they werent coming back, so i was kind of prepared.
We all need to get over the fact they are not coming back. But, who am I to talk, I’m still missing Northern Exposure and it ended in 1995. I miss the Gilmore Girls alot too. If I could wiggle my nose and make tv magic, Well, for one, I would live in Stars Hollow with them all, but I would make the show go on and we would watch them lives their lives til we were all……well, dead I guess?!
Along with anyone who saw the commercial, I thought there may be a chance that Gilmore Girls would be coming back. I was extremely excited and hopeful. I got online to see if this was true and to find out when to start watching.
ABCFamily is incredibly stupid for not continuing to run a charming witty show that so many people feel in love with. If there is a chance that the ABCFamily ran this commercial to see what the response would be, I hope they see what they need to see to start the show up again. Even if they ran this commercial just to get ratings, which is what I assume has been done (shame on you ABCFamily), then maybe they should open their eyes up to the responses they have received on so many websites. It seems like a smart business move to run a show that so many people would like to see more of. It’s automatic good ratings.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me. I was really excited, and now I have to go back and tell everyone that it wasn’t true :(

everyone should just email ABC family and ten bucks says they don’t email anyone back because they knew what they were doing.
Do they honestly think Im going to watch season 7 on ABC family now? hell no i wont, im buying the dvd’s and i don’t care how many times they decide to show the Sound of Music, I will not watch it on that channel. I am emailing ABC family and everyone else should too. and everyone should boycott ABC family, just because they show reruns of Gilmore Girls doesn’t mean they can play with our hearts like that!

UGGGGG, I too was suckered into thinking there was gonna be new Gilmore! I was so excited! I cant describe my terrible disappointment when I found the awful truth.
If this is a test they should put this show back on the air.
My 12 year old daughter was mislead by this! She watches the re-runs on ABC family and was jumping out of her skin when she thought their would be more. I hated to burst her bubble. Shame on ABC!

This sucks! I want NEW Gilmore Girls!
Omg i thought ABC family was airing a new season 8, but i am depressed now.
JUST GIVE US ONE MORE SEASON!!! THE SEASON 7 FINALE SUCKED!!
I am absolutely CRUSHED!! When I jumped online to Google what I thought I had heard on ABCFamily, I was so excited & now it’s the same disappointment as I felt when they so abruptly ended the show to begin with. So sad, I think I might cry :(
I was also suckered by the ad on ABCF, I even called my mom (we watched the entire series together)! This sucks, they should make at LEAST 1 more season AND a movie! People need more than a season finale for a series finale! I’m keeping my fingers crossed for something!
I sent an email to ABC family about the misleading ads. Perhaps they need some constructive feedback to let them know how unhappy they’ve made people with this shady tactic.
Season 7 is not “new”. Do you think it would be misleading to promise a “new” car but only produce a “new to us” car?
