Shonda Rhimes is not going to be bored any time soon, that’s for sure. She’s got Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice to head, and now she’ll be taking on a brand new set of fictionalized professionals: journalists. Washington D.C. journalists to be precise.
ABC has greenlit Rhimes’ Inside the Box, a brand new pilot that focuses on “an ambitious female news producer and her colleagues whose extracurriculars will be more exciting than the stories they cover.”
Something tells me the folks at ABC have a lot of faith in Rhimes’ ability to churn out hit shows, and why shouldn’t they? So far she’s 2 for 2.
I know I’m looking forward to seeing Inside the Box. Is this a premise that intrigues you? Or do you think Rhimes would be better off focusing on medical dramas?

I think she’s spreading herself too thin. Grey’s and PP is going to suffer for this. Mark my words.
i think this new pilot will make shonda become unfocus to grey’s and PP. and that’s so bad for Ga and PP’s fans
I agree with Brittany. Shonda may be spreading herself too thin. She has been so good with the medical drama’s. Just hope she does’t neclect my favorite show of all times, Grey’s and favorite couple with wonderful chemistry and great actors, Mer & Der, and aso Private Practice. Best night on TV. After every episode, I can hardly wait for the next week. Love all the characters and love how the storylines intertwine if you pay attention and think back 5 years, it eventually comes together. Ellen should win a Golden Globe for her acting in this show, She can play any scene convincingly and what I love about her, she is not a Diva, she is a normal, happy gal living a normal life.
I think Shonda will do extremely well. She is smart, talented and knows how to juggle success. She has the keen ability to supervise without hovering and expect greatness with the “families” she has created on TV. It will just get better and better. Nobody said anything negative when Norman Lear became the grandfather of TV…Give her a chance.
Hmm, I honestly don’t have a fixed opinion on this. I don’t really think this is such a good idea because Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice may suffer. But at the same time, I cannot wait to see how this “Inside The Box” show goes. It could be my new favourite show, for all I know. Besides, Shonda is very talented.
