American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, chose U2’s iconic hit “One” because he said that it is one of his favorite songs in the world. He even had to get permission from Bono himself and Adam did not disappoint. It was beautiful, poignant, tender and powerful all at the same time. I really loved it and I can’t believe how much he had grown throughout this competition.
Randy said that Adam has been hot since day one but he wasn’t thrilled when Adam went away from the melody (Simon actually booed). Kara said that Adam is a strategist and he can change everything about a song and still make it unbelievable. Paula said that she is miserably sitting next to Simon who is gloating. She basically called Adam the American Idol. Simon said it was a brilliant song choice and that it was a brilliant, brilliant performance.

Adam’s version of One was awful. It’s like I am in some sort of Bizarro world. To hear people saying that it was good makes me wonder where I fit in society. I really thought it was his worst performance – perhaps THE worst performance of the season.
I feel like we’re all getting suckered into this. I really don’t believe that the judges liked it as much as they said – especially Simon. For anyone that has ever heard that song before, I simply can’t imagine how they could have liked Adams screaming rendition.
BTW – I loved how he encouraged everyone to go listen to the words of the song. He was talking about U2’s most famous song! U2! It was nice of Adam to give props to them – ha.
If he wins, then they should change the name of the show to American Idiot. I hope that next year they add a negative vote feature, it would be nice to be able to vote against someone.
As you can tell – I took offense to that awful version of One tonight.
David, you should get your ears checked…
Everyone has their own tastes in music, influenced by their culture, style and even prejudices. What’s remarkable about Adam is that he more than draws diverse listeners to himself, with only a rare minority dissenting. That rare Adam hater may be influenced by his tastes in music and sexual orientation, but, no one can argue his immense talent. He’s far from amateur-night. I’m sure every male singer in the world is gobsmacked by his ethereal tones and spectacular range and control.
Adam is already the Winner of the show. Anyone who thinks otherwise is either ignorant, lives under a rock, or needs to get their ears checked (like David!!!).
David, you are really quite weird. I heard from people that ADAM really sings from his heart and its very touching. I’m rushing home to watch now.
Do you really believe you are better than the judges. YOU are the real American IDIOT.
And it is people like you that makes the WORLD the worse place to live in.
ADAM WILL BE THE BEST – much more than you can ever be even if you got 9 lives. Crazy fellow.

Ouch, Lynn! I have to say i agree with some of what David’s saying. I think Adam’s repeatitive and annoying cuz you know the high-pitch, mouth-open-like-a-lizard screech is coming every night. I feel like the judges are trying to get Adam to win. Everybody but Paula doesn’t even seem to care if the other contestants are around or not, cuz Adam’s already the sure win.
All I can say is I hope Adam feels the curse of Simon’s approval. It happened to Melinda DooLittle and David Archuleta, didn’t it?! but seriously. Aren’t the judges saying all the time you have to have the whole package? Then why is Simon all “nothing matters but your voice in this competition, and Adam’s is the best. vote for Adam America!” ???
And, i too was thinking, “too bad they don’t have a line to vote against someone…” cuz i was voting for Kris & Danny to balance out Simon’s remarks for Adam. [All hail the king of rock!...] seriously?! Plus, I love Kris and Danny. But i hope they don’t make a line to vote against anyone. It would take away from the show.
However, the comment David made about American Idiot, I don’t agree with. I mean, America’s gotten it wrong before.. Look at Kellie Pickler, Chris Daughtry & Elliott Yamin. Taylor Hicks beat them, but he was dropped by his label and the other 3 have successful careers and great fans!
It won’t be the end of the world if Adam wins, but I can’t wait to hear more from Allison!, Kris, & Danny. Cuz they to me were the best this season had.
Adam comes off cocky to me. He acts like he’s better than everyone when he’s being interviewed and stuff and well… it’s really annoying. And “Vote For Adam!”, maybe you need to get YOUR ears checked. Because Danny’s “You Are So Beautiful” & Kris’s “Heartless” were AMAZING. So schedule your appointment.
And you sure have a lot to say to back up ADAM, who you admitted you haven’t seen yet. So I can’t take your opinion seriously if you’re only going by what you heard other people say. I heard the world was gonna end June 6, 2006; and oh my gosh, it didn’t. Don’t believe everything you hear. Make your own opinion.
And Lynn, do you know David personally? Because you pretty much just told him that he’s what’s wrong with the world. And he’s an “IDIOT”. Hmmm, that’s a pleasant thing to say to a stranger.
One last question Lynn- how are you posting on a website if you’re running home to listen to Adam? He’s on the internet, and apparently at the time, so were you.
