Now this is something special! Our very own Alan Rickman (Snape) is scheduled to receive New Year Honors from the Queen of England, a very prestigious honor indeed. Rickman is one of the few entertainment folks who will be receiving this honor; the 62 year old actor has had a very long and distinguished career. Officially, this will mark his entry into the coveted circle of the Order of the British Empire, which basically means he’s on his way to becoming a knight, potentially, some day.
Hmmm… a few years ago Mr. Rickman jokingly threatened a fellow female actor with death if she curtseyed before the queen. He’s not into that monarchy crap… wonder how this will go! I’m sure he’ll at least be polite.
Who spreads these kind of ridiculous rumours?! Just over a year later, this has clearly never happened! And, even if it were true, and Mr. Rickman had declined the honour (as he most definitely would, NOT being a Royalist), the world at large would have heard about it by now!!
