It’s a good week to be a Gilmore; not only is Lauren Graham officially on a network drama, but Alexis Bledel (Rory on Gilmore Girls) has been cast in a new Robert Redford movie, ” The Conspirator.”
Her co-stars include Evan Rachel Wood, James McEvoy and Kevin KIine. Shooting already started in Georgia this week, which means Alexis went straight from Montreal (where she was shooting The Kate Logan Affair) back to the States. Alexis will play Catherine Morgan, the wife to James McEvoy’s character Frederick Aiken. The film is a period piece about the aftermath of Abraham Lincoln’s assasination.
And in even more good news for Alexis: Roadside Attractions has bought the distribution rights for “The Good Guy.” In this film, Alexis plays Beth, a New York woman who gets involved in a love triangle. The film premiered earlier this year at the Tribeca FIlm Festival. Check out a few stills from the movie at an earlier post on the site.

I love Robert Redford & his movies but I freaking love him “more” for giving this overwhelming break to get Alexis to be in his movie along w/ its stellar casts. Sounds surreal but a very much an awesome one – cant wait for the movie…

I wonder what she would she look like in this movie; as its a costume film happened in the 1800′s. Probably & somehow similar like this one…

her first period-costume movie just like The Conspirator.
Good to see that both Lauren & Alexis keeps on getting acting jobs but IMHO, its Alexis who’s making (but still working on it) a big leap from her previous stereo-type of roles. I think Alexis is really taking (movie)acting on “dead-serious” tone this time around. Hats-Off to you gurl!!!
Agree Much!
As Ive stated on her last thread that I’m so “happy for her that I could cry” LOL!
Seriously, next year would be a busy year for Alexis as she got “3″ movies to promote and the last one being touted now earlier at this point as an “award” contender. So gone off now of those “missing-in-action” and/or now-you-see-her-now-you-dont” days of Alexis as its looks that her career is getting in full circle now…
Wow Alexis might get busy woman, that good for her.
@ Imagine she had passed the distinctive taste of the elusive & all-time premiere actor/ director Robert Redford… that is really something!
LIKEWISE!!!
Hopefully Redford would take care of her role (as she’s got a lot of topnotch co-stars in there)and Alexis would act/play/perform it really well just like what she did in the ER Finale episodes.
Lead role or supporting role, big or small budgeted film (like Kate Logan Affair); as long as Alexis feels passionately to be part in said project/s, she would likely to grab it if given a chance. And in this latest movie of hers, she would play a character opposite to the lead actor, who is James McAvoy by the way and who’s really building an amazing career (both box-office & acting wise) for himself.
Bet sure Alexis would have an important role (albeit its a supporting one) & would have lots of screen time w/ JM since he’s the lead actor. And w/ it’s stellar cast along w/ R. Redford handling it, Alexis could have great experience & exposure that would lead her to a more acting career opportunities even only that she gets to be a part of this somewhat colossal periodic-piece.
The movie looks promising, I’m glad her movie career is doing fine. (But I do she guest again on some TV show :D )
Wow Alexis teaming up w/ James McAvoy (one of the most credible & hottest actor right now)… just by the their names/looks attached to the film, it really looks interesting & watchable.
Plus I like Rachel Evan Wood too… and hope she could bond too w/ Alexis though it would be surreal as REW is somewhat wild while AB is still rocking her goody-2-shoes persona.
don’t know if it helps but i fund this article with a AB sighting in Savannah……….

I’m now hands-off that Alexis truly “got” talent…
Imagine she had passed the distinctive taste of the elusive & all-time premiere actor/ director Robert Redford… that is really something!
So break a leg & best of luck Alexis!
Looks like a supporting role for Alexis in a very deeply talented cast but any experience on a Redford set sounds like a terrfic opportunity to hone her craft. Congrats and have a blast in the deep South!!
X-cellent!
The kid is on a roll. (she’ll always be a kid to me)
And yes … those eyes.
Oh my,those eyes. Amen.
WOW Alexis is very busy women good for her. Can’t wait to see her movies. You go Girl.
