Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) has returned to modeling! It was announced this week that Alexis has signed with IMG Models. They have already put together a portfolio page for her here.
IMG is set to handle Alexis’ commercial endorsements, which means we’ll be seeing more of Alexis’ pretty face in magazines soon I hope!
IMG Models currently handles such names as Heidi Klum, Hilary Duff, Kate Moss and more!

i agree. alexis is beautiful and decent.. she maintains the image shes had since she started in the industry. i love her because of that! its hard to keep a clean image in showbiz where everyone is expected to surprise or shock the audiences/crowd. so thats truly admirable for alexis.
and theres no denying that she photographs so well. im just not really sure if shes top model or high fashion material but as endorser or for beauty campaign, she will do so well. i think this is not really an end to her acting career, maybe she decided to go back to modeling as she had done it before (something she enjoyed perhaps) while waiting for an opportunity to get acting job again.

I don’t think this new modeling job is desperate at all. After GG she tried different things. I think she’s all grown up now, she’s got more confendence, she’s getting more beautiful every day and just wants to do things now that make her happy. She feels at home in New York, the Hollywood-life is just not her style and that’s why I love this girl!
And about the modeling-world: It would be nice to see more photo models like Alexis these days. Class(y)ic beauties with normaal bodies and not the weird looking alienish faces with their way too skinny bodies.
Wow hearing straight from Alexis that she’s still digging some flea markets is just so “humbling” … unlike those other superficial tarts who’s always into branded stuffs.
I found the clip. Was worried that I had initiated a wild goose chase. I had Ch 4 tuned in on Saturday morning but wasn’t really paying attention. When I heard her name mentioned in a promo my ears pricked up, but since I hadn’t been listening too closely I wasn’t really sure what I was looking for, either. Thanks for taking the time to try and track it down with not too much to go on.
Alexis Bledel on the local NBC news sharing some of her favorite NY places. She mentions The Good Guy, so I guess it’s tied in with that promo.

Did anyone see Alexis on NBC in NY on Saturday the 30th @ 7:30? I wasn’t able to catch it and thought that it would be posted here and I’m disappointed that it hasn’t.
Alexis could be a credible & ideal endorser to any product/s she chose to promote; as she’s one the very few actresses who remains so decent and got an untarnished image up until now or all throughout her career. Highly deserving to be “actually” a role-model for everyone out there.
I would rather see Alexis’ face partly switching to modeling and gracing all those beauty & fashion magazines w/ is just her forte that’s make it legit in the 1st place; than jumping on the bandwagon of her other contemporaries with the slogan hype of “I’m-An-Actress-And-I’m-A-Fashion-Designer-Too-Yo!”. Makes Alexis” cut above the rest” for opting to said prestigious modeling gig.
It says in that article itself, that they don’t know if or when Sin City 2 will compose. Does she really have anything else besides her undoubtedly pretty face? Lots of folks seem not so sure.

Well ok if she were “claimed” that she can’t get acting jobs (?!) just becoz she’s going back to modeling – by such top-of-the-line international modeling agency called IMG; who’s responsible for the representation of some of the world’s most high in demand models, including Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Heidi Klum, Carolyn Murphy (of Estee Lauder) and just to name a few. “How is that to be considered just to be settled for?!”
Well at least Alexis will still be legitimately working her azz off to a honest to goodness & a high profile job that is; rather than those other starlets who are also or more like the ones who “actually” can’t get acting jobs yet still remaining hungry for hollow fame that’s why they resorted to all sorts of media antics & hype (aka media whoring) through their regular features on the tabloids – so not that they wouldn’t be fall off under the HW radar.
I’d say Alexis is still choosing to be a smart cookie on that note. Best of luck to her.
Unfortunately for Alexis there are far more intelligent, strong and savvy actors out there. Her poor range in Gilmore Girls and the post GG projects have done little to raise her stock in Hollywood, obscurity and modeling work beckon.
I don’t think it’s great at all. I think it seems a little desperate. She can’t get an acting gig, so she goes right back into something she worked at in high school?
She’s obviously an intelligent woman. She should go back to school and get her film degree, or do some writing and put it out there. Now we’re going to see her turn into a waif and just be another pretty face like Heidi. I think it’s kind of sad.
Wow Alexis is in the agency/company that established the modeling careers of Kate Moss & Gisele Bundchen… and that would somehow make Alexis now that she is to become a “supermodel” soon?! That awesomely cool!
And sooner or later, Alexis would now be tagged by the media as actress/model or model/actress… that sounds classically cool for me.
She’s older now, and her characteristics right on time to attract more and more attention…
This does not seem so much Alexis returning to modeling [since with all the TV and movie PR appearances she never really left, and she has been particularly visible the last 6 months] but her taking a more proactive stance in looking for commercial endorsements and occasional modeling gigs.
Nothing wrong with that as Alexis has been seen favorably in the public eye for years and endorsements always seemed like a logical natural extension of her professional life. I was always a little surprised that she did not do more of this, especially after the summer of 2005 when her visability was maxed out. Certainly she could have been every bit as good a spokesperson as Hillary D or Hayden P with the potential to reach out to the older crowd as well.
New modeling job = more pictures of Alexis. YAY! :-)
