While promoting her Post Grad film, Alexis Bledel (Rory Gilmore on Gilmore Girls) told MTV that she’ll be returning to her dark role as Becky in Sin City 2, whenever that project finally gets running.
The sequel has been many years coming and even Alexis doesn’t know when it will take off, though she says “hopefully very soon.” The sequel would be based upon the A Dame to Kill For story, which makes it partly a prequel to the original film.
Sin City is a film noir based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel series of the same name. It weaves through several plot lines, of killers, cops, hookers and hit men, all inhabiting one very dangerous, very sexy city. Alexis Bledel starred in the film as Becky, a prostitute and spy.

Great! The first one was fantastic, though a bit darker than her usual stuff. In my opinion, that’s good. She could easily become another Kate Hudson where they just star in chick flicks all the time (which wouldn’t be awful, but definitely not great), but I’m glad she’s exercising some range.
Can’t wait!

I’ve never read the Miller graphic novels so may be blowing smoke, but I thought the first movie was supposed to be a close representation and synopsis of the full “Sin City” series. If that is true does that leave anything interesting in the Becky storyline?? Any info appreciated.

I’m not an expert of Miller’s work, but I know there are much more novels than these narrated in sin city 1. for exemple “a dame to kill for”, on which sin city 2 should be based. and also read that he’s writing some new stuff.. :)

This would be so cool. Another major movie role for her, although Alexis wasn’t very convincing in the first movie. Who cares, with those eyes?

Hi Aleksandra-
Thanks for the tip. I actually went back and am slowly working through the Sin City Anthology. Turns out the first movie was a very faithful [almost to the exact panel and dialogue] reproduction of 3 of the 7 “Sin City” volumes [Sin City - The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill [major Becky screen time], and That Yellow B######]. These volumes were bookended with two short Hitman appearances, the second of these at the end of the movie showing the Hitman and Becky in the hospital elevator then cutting away before hearing the gunshot for Becky’s supposed demise.
A couple of things I noticed. This last scene was in none of the volumes I have read so far, so maybe is a red herring [although my research is incomplete at this point]. The other is that in the graphic novel the Becky character was strictly black and white while the movie strikingly took advantage of “Alexis Blue Eyes”. In some of the other volumes there is a character called Delia, the “Blue-Eyed Assasin”. Would be wild if the Becky character somehow morphs into this deeply disturbed but interesting character.
Finally, the volume you mention [A Dame to Kill For] does have major screen time for Dwight, Gail, and Miho and the femme fatale Eva [probably to be played by AJ], but the rest of the Old Town Girls are nothing more than background in a few panels, so for Becky to be relevant to the new movie, she will probably have to be included in volumes I have not yet read.
However it works out, will be glad to see AB pushing her talents and boundaries of the types of projects she will work on!!
