I told you yesterday that Miley Cyrus had signed on to sing in an all-star cover of “Everybody Hurts” by REM, with the profits going to Haiti relief. Well, now I am going to give you the full lowdown on what is happening with this song!
So far there are 13 artists confirmed to be on this single, and many more are rumored to be singing up to help very soon! American Idol judge, Simon Cowell, was commissioned by the British Prime Minister to put together a song for charity after the devastating earthquake.
There’s no say about special terms for American releases just yet, but in England, the song will be available completely tax free. And it looks like REM has also agreed to give the song to Cowell with no publishing fees. This means that all of the money (at least from England) will go straight to the Haiti relief fund.
It also looks like Miley’s visit to the recording studio the other day, may have been to record vocals for this single. With participants like Jon Bon Jovi, Leona Lewis and JLS recording at various locations across the globe this weekend it is very likely that’s what Miley was up to.
So far the artists confirmed are:
-Miley Cyrus
-Susan Boyle
-Leona Lewis
-Mariah Carey
-Rod Stewart
-Jon Bon Jovi
-Take That
-Michael Buble
-Westlife
-Alexandra Burke
-James Morrison
-Mika
-James Blunt
