Allison DuBois to Guest on Oprah 02/15/2007

The real Allison DuBois will be on Oprah tomorrow along with John Edwards (the psychic, not the presidential candidate – heh.)

The teaser for the episode is “Do You Believe?” Well, do you, punk? (Oh sorry. I saw Clint Eastwood on TV the other day and apparently he is still with me.)

Set your DVR’s for Oprah February 15th!

Didn’t set my VCR, but please let me know what they talk about!

I just watched Oprah, and I really enjoyed the last half of the show with Allison DuBois. I read her firsts book, Don’t Kiss Them Good-bye, and really enjoyed it. I didn’t really learn anything I didn’t already know, but it was still cool seeing her solve crimes, like our Allison does on Medium. They even showed a itsy-bitsy clip from the show, and Oprah told everybody where and when they can see the it(might score better ratings next Wednesday–a lot of people watch Oprah). Nice little treat when I got home from school.

Oh no!!! I set the VCR incorrectly. ARGHHHHH!!! Does anyone know of a torrent or online posting of it??

I agree with Holly about having the real Allison on _Oprah_ maybe being a good ratings thing for _Medium_ (well, I have hope). Cool that _Oprah_ is on ABC while _Medium_ is on NBC, and also cool that Oprah continually referred to the show as the “hit series _Medium_.” Well, Oprah’s book club worked well, so you never know.

I watched today and was reminded that the real Allison is a pretty pretentious chick. Maybe it’s how’s she’s always been, maybe she’s like that because people probably tell her she’s full of it all the time and it gets old … I’m not sure. She’s entertaining, though, just like John Edward, the other psychic featured on the ep.

Actually, diregarding the fact that they’re both married, if Allison D and John E had kids together, they’d have some of the most pompous psychic kids on the planet.

Betty: I will post a quick blurb later today, with a longer follow-up Saturday.

Holly: I do hope it gains viewers for Medium. That would be most excellent.

Emma: I haven’t seen anything yet, sorry.

Nansee: Pretentious with a capital P, which makes her a good talk show guest, I suppose. I could not bring myself to watch the John Edwards segment. Too vomitous. How was it?

  6. Holly says:

Shelia, the John Edwards half was actually okay. Even if you don’t believe in all that stuff I think that it is good to at least let them talk and listen to what they have to say. He just said how the whole medium thing works for him and they showed bits of readings he had previously done on audience members. Then they all said how their beliefs had changed. I actually enjoyed it, but that’s just me.

Nansee, Oprah is on NBC here. How does that work? Usually a show is on one specific network, or is Oprah just special?

I’m really looked forward to seeing next Wednesday’s Medium ratings. They surely will go up after being mentioned on Oprah. That lady has one following.

  7. Betty says:

    Holly,

I believe “Oprah” is a syndicated program – one that is made by a certain production studio and then sold to various markets. Where I live it comes on a CBS station. I believe all of the daytime talk shows are produced in that matter except for “The View” which is an ABC show produced and shown on the network. “Oprah” airs at 4 PM where I live, but in other markets, it airs at different times. For years, “Live With Regis & Kathy (later Kelly)” aired on the local WB station which is now merged into the CW. For the last several years, it has aired on the local ABC affiliate. When Tony Danza’s show started, it aired at 3 PM locally, but then they moved it to midnight and never promoted it at all in the second year of the show – not one commercial for it. Executives wonder why the shows don’t get ratings.

  8. Holly says:

Thanks for the insight, Betty. I’d always wondered why when I went on vacation shows were always on different stations.

  9. nansee says:

Thanks Betty for expaining what shows are on what networks! I never understand that kind of thing.

Sheila, John Edwards was … John Edwards. ;)

  10. Ramesh Gilani says:

I love my brother, I missed him so much. he lives in my mind every second, i need you Allison to help me contact him.
    Regards Ramesh

  11. Johanna Marr says:

My mother has ben gone for four years now, and there is not a day goes by without missin her and thinking about her. I wished I had been more understanding about the needs of my mother as I am sure I would have been a better daughter and cared for her much better than what I did. I know you cannot turn the clock back, but I wished I could live with this guilt. Can you help, Alison?
    Johanna
