Amanda Overmyer was veery refreshing and I was sorry to see her go. Have been watching since Season 1and she offered something a little different. She is a talented singer...perhaps not the wisest in song choices...would like to see more of her in some bluesy stuff...really like her voice and also, her nice personality...down to earth...good work values...hasn't been coddled. Amanda I wish you luck & would like to see more of you.

The bluesy, energetic, elvis-like vocal style of Amanda Overmyer was "often" refreshingly good when compared to the others; but as good as she was all the performances she did were too much alike. Those loud, raspy, ubest renditions became so predictable and more monotonous as the weeks wore on.

Although, truth be told, Amanda should have lasted a few more weeks when isolated against some of the other less talented Idol performers.

When it came right down to it: Overmyer was an underMeyer as far as her fan base.

Pop Prediction?

AO will get her fair share of national bookings post-Idol and may even get a recording contract from an Indi.

As far as her long term future in the music biz, I don't think she has a successful outlook. Good thing she has a nursing career to fall back on. Plus, she should always a decent regional draw in her own backyard.

Lastly, I think she should have done a handful more ballads. She had a ton of Elvis slow-movers to choose from that she could have made her own.

Good luck, Amanda.
