In honor of their new book, Influence, online bookseller Amazon interviewed authors Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. They chat about how they came up with the idea for Influence, how they chose their interviewees, how they acquired interviews, and how they learned to interview people on the fly!

Jen–I totally agree! This was the best Influence-related interview I’ve come across. I think it’s because the interview was about the book and the process behind it and not “wow, you’re the Olsen twins, let’s talk about that.”
The NY times one isn’t bad either–Ashley says some really insightful and intelligent things about the paparazzi.
Thank you so much, Erin!!! That was the most insightful interview from them imo. I feel like I’ve known them a million times more based on this one interview alone, compared to the dozens of interviews they’ve had. Now, I really know why people say The Olsen Twins are intelligent girls and they were really at ease…as opposed to the Oprah interview. I haven’t seen this side of them.
