Troubled Teen Mom Amber Portwood has gotten quite the wake-up call with her jail stint: She thought that because she’s a celebrity like Lindsay Lohan, she’d only be there for a few hours rather than the days she’s now been locked up (not to mention harassed). Ironically, she now thinks that the best way to get out of the slammer and back with daughter Leah is to shed her celebrity status: She’s trying to quit the show but is having a tough time since she’s still under contract with MTV.
According to the Daily Mail, Amber is on suicide watch because the other inmates are harassing her for being on Teen Mom and because Leah spent Christmas with dad Gary Shirley and his new girlfriend. The earliest Amber could get out of jail is ner next hearing, on January 27, but she and mom Tonya are actually working together. The only condition? That Amber quit the show.

However, it may not be as easy as that. Tonya is still grappling with the network since Amber is under contract—not surprising, since she’s one of the most messed-up of the Teen Mom crew and gets MTV awesome ratings. But at her last hearing Amber testified, “I want to quit, and I will.”
Until then, she’ll have to deal with rough treatment from her fellow inmates; she’s already been moved twice after one girl knocked over her food tray and another threw toilet water in her face while she was trying to sleep.
Gary hasn’t been to visit Amber yet; the source said, “Gary thinks Amber being in jail for a long period of time is a good thing for her; he thinks she needs to finally learn her lesson and suffer the consequences.”

41.5% believe she should have to stay on MTV?? Does anyone give a crap about the little girl that is in the middle of all of this??? Amber needs some serious help, obviously!! The last thing she needs is to be on a worthless show that exploits mentally ill and/or dysfunctional families!! I don’t see MTV stepping up to help her or her child. Yet, they have no problem making her life into a sideshow. MTV is so Irresponsible and morally bankrupt. What happened to MUSIC Television?? They sold out!
