Jason Castro was born in 1987 and is singing “Fragile” (one of my fave songs by Sting) and it was good until the end. I love that he chose to sing Julio Iglesias’ part in Spanish. Randy said he thought it was alright but not a jump out vocal performance, Paula said he is staying true to who he is and Simon said Jason has had two bad weeks and thinks he should take this competition more seriously.

I love Jason’s rendition of “Fragile.” I love the verses he sings in spanish… the way he belts out the lyrics ‘espanola,’ is very sexy. He could be very famous because he has this intangible quality; the “it” factor so- to- speak… I wan’t to hear more- and- more- and -more – and – more…. Listening to Jason sing is like whispering, while walking barefoot on wet sand…the footprints in the wake linger….
i agree ozzy. i think jason’s still gonna make it to the music industry even if he’s not gonna win the competition. he’s great and i super like his genre.

Jason will have a career without winning Idol. He has his own distintive style, not the usual boring formulaic Idol style. He’s more of a singer-songwriter type. I love this guy. He’s very charming and talented.

Simon should stop taking this “competition” so seriously. Very few of them ever really accomplish anything on a large scale, it’s just a
TV show really. And a lot of people know it’s “manipulated” anyway. Jason is fine just the way he is. Simon’s just upset that Jason doesn’t give off the vibe that this show is the most important thing in the world to him. Jason is way too grounded and knows that there are much more important things in life. But he has a musical gift and he is sharing it. I for one find him refreshinly different and entertaining. Also… every other person has found their niche and is singing exactly the same way every week without getting called on it. Why so tough on him? He did a good job with this song and the judges just don’t want to give him kudos anymore (well Randy never has…right from the start). Just more manipulation and jockeying the “cast” around to suit their needs.
