American Idol has a Top 12!!!! I was sad that Asia’h Epperson and Danny Noriega didn’t make it. What do you think of this list???
TOP 12 FINALISTS:
- Amanda Overmyer (23) – Raised and currently lives in Mulberry, IN. Overmyer is a health-care specialist and is earning a bachelor’s degree in business management. In her spare time, Overmyer loves riding her motorcycle.
- Brooke White (24) – Currently lives in Van Nuys, CA, but grew up in Mesa, AZ. Before auditioning for IDOL, White was a nanny. White began singing at age 15 and also plays the piano and guitar.

- Carly Smithson (24) – Currently lives in San Diego, CA, but was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland. Smithson moved to Los Angeles at age 13 to pursue her singing career. Before auditioning for AMERICAN IDOL, she was working in a bar and running a tattoo shop with her husband.
- Chikezie (22) – Currently lives in Inglewood, CA. He began singing when he was 13 years old. Before auditioning for AMERICAN IDOL, he was a T.S.A. (Transportation Security Administration) screener and a cashier. He also studied singing at Santa Monica College.
- David Archuleta (17) – Born in Miami, FL, but grew up in Murray, UT. Archuleta began singing at age 7. Currently a junior at Murray High School, he has performed with an a cappella choir group and plays the piano.
- David Cook (25) – Currently lives in Tulsa, OK, but grew up in Blue Springs, MO. Cook was born in Houston and graduated from Central Missouri State University in 2006. He has been singing since he was in the 2nd grade and also plays the guitar.
- David Hernandez (24) – Born and raised in Glendale, AZ. Hernandez began singing at age 6. He has previously performed at various events in Arizona.
- Jason Castro (20) – Currently lives in Rockwall, TX, but was born in Dallas and raised in Rowlett, TX. Castro grew up playing drums and before auditioning for AMERICAN IDOL, Castro was majoring in Construction Science at Texas A&M University.
- Kristy Lee Cook (24) – Currently lives in Selma, OR, but was born in Seattle, WA. Cook has sung for crowds since she was 13 years old. Prior to auditioning for AMERICAN IDOL, Cook raised and trained horses.
- Michael Johns (29) – Currently lives in Los Angeles, but was born in Perth, Australia. Johns moved to the U.S. in 1998 to attend Abraham Baldwin Agriculture College in Tifton, GA, then moved to Buckhead, GA, outside of Atlanta to pursue singing. Johns began singing at the age of 5 and also plays the guitar.
- Ramiele Malubay (20) – Currently lives in Miramar, FL. Malubay was born in Saudi Arabia and spent her early years in the Philippines. She has been singing since she was 12 years old. Before IDOL, she was attending school and was a hostess at a local sushi restaurant. She also plays the piano and guitar.
- Syesha Mercado (21) – Currently lives in Miami, although she grew up in Sarasota, FL. Mercado began singing when she was 3 years old and has a strong background in theatre and dancing.

We really liked Kady but she just didn’t get to feel the songs.. So sorry to see her go…

I am so disappointed that Danny left.
He was probably my second favorite guy. Really, really shocked and disppointed. Other than that, I was okay with who got eliminated. Although, even though I’m not a huge fan of Asia’h too much, I thought she deserved to stay longer than Kristy Lee Cook. And I would have very gladly given up Michael Johns for Danny Noriega. I am not a big fan of Michael and I think he lacks personality and when he reaches the higher notes, he tends to screech and his throat sounds tight.
Although, I am disappointed with Danny’s departure, I am probably the most happy with Idol’s Top 12, than I’ve ever been with any other season. There is pretty much just one person who I disagree with (and that’s just half heartedly).
I’m just extremely glad that David Archuleta made it into the top 12! I love that boy!
I’m so disappointed that Asia’h was voted off… She deserved to be part of the top 12 and I really think Kristy Lee Cook should have been the one going home. And I felt bad for Danny as well… Even though I’m not his hugest fan I still think he deserved a spot in the top 12 more than Chikezie…
Glad to see Kristy make it. Wish Amanda would have gone long ago. she is the raspiest worst singer of the top 100. Kady should have stayed longer. she has amazing talent. also liked Amy Davis and Aleina. Glad to see asi’ha go too. Carly is the best of the bunch and David Archileta will most likely win. he is the best of the guys. so for the finals: David A. and Carly Smithson…Go Carly…that was an amazine song. I drove all night.
Wow, what a week! Carly has got to go. Even though she has a good voice that’s not all that’s important. She has that sleeve tattoo up her right arm which is so horrible for a woman to have. Oh my God what’s with what’s her face crying all the time. Ramiele, I think she needs some med’s to make it through the day. She can’t win cause she doesn’t have the strength. Amanda got a really good chance now with them putting the guys and dolls together. Her voice might be a lil’ cat scratch but keep in mind she sings rock n roll man. That’s hard on the voice.
YAY! david made it to the top 12!!!
I’m so happy David Archuleta made it into the top 12! (not that I ever doubted for a second that he wouldn’t) That boy is amazing and totally deserves to win it all!
I also like Carly’s voice and Brooke White, Jason Castro and Michael John’s latest performances, but none of them have the “whole package” that David does. Everybody runs a distant second to him. It’s the David Archuleta show, for sure.

im soo glad that david A. made it into the top 12 but ppol/fans should still keep voting for him cuz you never know. i hope he wins cuz he really is the only reason i watch american idol LOL.
i dont like amanda or carly idk i just dont like thier persona.
question this is American Idol is Carly even an american citizen? She is good but is the key not the word American Idol after all there are canadian idols, and european idols out there.
Am I missing something?
