David C should have sang something that can make his last performance stand out and I think, David A will close AI Season 7.

It looks like tonight will be the night. The battle of the David’s will finally be over. I really like both of them. They have the same name but different styles. No matter who wins this contest, they are both winners in the music business. Good luch to each one.

i started out the season not liking David Cook. I thought he was a little bit full of himself. But over time he has won me over. And last night he proved that he is an amazing young man. I don’t have enough space here to say why. Let’s just say he overcame all the obstacles in his path last night. And maybe he cried because he held back his best performance.

Ok…..who is it going to be?
    Archuleta or Cook?
Is it me, or have wardrobe been casual lately….where are the suits during the finals?

Cook #1: I was a little disappointed at how un-”original”/un-”creative” the performance was….
why did i have Cher’s face when Cook was performing?

Archuleta #1: I have to say it was better than Clay Aiken (Season 2)’s version…YAY!

Cook #2: Would I listen to this or curious about the singer if I happen to hear the song while shopping? the answer is NO….not a great “winner song” and yes, if he was to win tomorrow, that would be the song he’ll be performing….I don’t know what’s wrong with Paula…..–it IS the “winning” song! On that same note – Randy — It’s 2008 NOT 2007

Archuleta #2: Not impressed with the song, but do enjoy the performance…..

Cook #3: I think I fell asleep during his performance. “Why do I want to do a song i did already” fighting words! You think it was directed at Archuleta? hmmmmmmmmmm

    Archuleta #3: one word, 3 sylabols = A-MA-ZING

I know I’m bias towards Archuleta…and here is the break down:

David Archuleta: I don’t know why “age” is such a factor….Diana DeGarmo (Season 3) and Jordin Sparks (Season 6) were both in their late teens, and I don’t see people complaining. I believe that Archuleta has a fan base and if he follows the Adult Comtemp and Ballads, he’ll be able to make records and sell, ie. Clay Aiken…..you can make all the jokes you want, but the guy got 4 albums and an EP out….if my tally is right, the most out of any Idols….Archuleta can sing….he just needs to find the right songs and his Dad needs to get out of the way if its really for David’s Sake….

David Cook: He may be popular and the general public loves him “he’s different”, “he’s unique” blah blah blah….Great example include Justin Guarini (Season 1), Taylor Hicks (Season 5) and Blake Lewis (Season 6). They are NOT selling records and their record company have terminated the deal…how said. OK, i have to give Cook the credit that he’s brave and smart, but original and talented? If you review all his “great” performances, those are “covers” of Covers… nothing original….Those that he did try to re-arrange and ARE original, actually suck…so does this guy have talent? you may differ, but I don’t think so

    Your American Idol is…….David ……………Archuleta!

Ohhhhh, and then Ruben closes the show to further remind us – no comparison – he was better than any either David tonight.

Well, the competition is over. All year David Cook has been my favorite male contestant. DA is not my cup of tea and lacks personality – but tonight, IMO, he outperformed DC.
It is funny how this has been compared in many ways to AI2: Carly sang 2 of Clay’s versions of songs, last week the top 3 sang Ain’t No Stopping Us (of all the songs to choose for them – Clay & Ruben AI2 finals), tonight DA chose DLTSGDOM (good, but . . .). And then Simon’s comments at the end, we knew what he meant. Tonight was a good show but still no WOW factor for me. Try hard as they may, AI7 is no comparison to the Ruben/Clay showdown. JMO.
