American Idol 8 Disco Week Results Show

The results show from Disco Week on American Idol got underway with a group number choreographed by judge, Paula Abdul.  It felt like something from a dance show because they showed Paula training the contestants.  When the performance was over, Paula was presented with a bouquet of flowers.  It felt a little… strange (?) to me.  What did you think of that?

lil and anoop eliminatedLil Rounds was the first to be sent home tonight in a very quick elimination.  Ryan asked her to go over to the other side of the stage and as soon as she got there, he told her that her journey on the show had ended.  She did a much better job singing “I’m Every Woman” but I still don’t think it would have been enough to keep her safe.

Next, Disco legends Harry Wayne “KC” Casey, Thelma Houston and Freda Payne.  I’m going to just to respectfully say that I love the songs but the performances were… interesting.  I’m going to just blame it on the Idol stage curse and call it a night…

Kris Allen was the first person named to the Top 5!  Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey are also safe.  Anoop Desai was named to the bottom three.  Allison Iraheta joined him and I was totally shocked.

David Archuleta sang “Touch My Hand” and he was so energetic and amazing.  I really loved him tonight.  What did you think?

Anoop Desai was eliminated and I’m so sad.  It’s not that I don’t like Allison but he’s got such a good voice but he made some bad song choices.  I hope he has a bright future ahead of him because he’s got a great personality and look.

The results show went exactly as I had hoped. Don’t get me wrong – I love Anoop, but the Top 5 is the most amazing top 5 I can remember in the history of the show – he just couldn’t keep up. I did enjoy the choreographed # in the beginning although Paula drives me nuts. I ONLY watch Idol on DVR and forward thru everything she says. The performances by the legends were interesting – again most were fast forwarded. And Archie was OK. I don’t care for him much – his voice bugs me. Glad to see he has come out of his shell a little and gained more confidence on the stage. He’s very humble so it was great to see this tonite.

Idol wasn’t entirely truthful when they claimed that Paula choreographed that number. According to Benji Shwimmer the guy that won season 2 of SYTYCD he helped her choreograph. Wouldn’t you think they’d give him some of the credit.
Actually I couldn’t believe my eyes when those “legends” did their numbers. It was more than ‘interesting’, IMO it was pathetic…lol

David Archuleta did an AWESOME job with “Touch My Hands”. Yes, he was very sick last week. He was in Singapore and Malaysia for a few performances and promos. Then came home for a few more shows and appearances. Here tonight and gone tomorrow to the UK. After that the Phillipines, then the US to Tour with Demi.

Are you all tired yet? I know I am!! In their spare time Mike, his guitarist and David will be writing for his next CD wich is due for release late this year or early next year. David will also be working on releasing a Christmas CD. What a treat that will be!!! Can’t wait!!!

Hold on there is more…. check out all the charities he is involved in “Rising Star Outreach”, “The Invisible Children”, “Crush Kids Cancer”, “Crush MS” just to name a few. Please take a few minutes and visit “ANGELS
FOR A CAUSE” for more infomation on how to donate to these wonderful charities!! Even the smallest amount makes a huge difference in someones life!!

DAVID ARCHULETA, THE VOICE AND THE HEART!!!

We’re getting down to the wire. It seems like this season went by so quickly! I kind of knew Lil would be sent home, but thought Matt would go over Anoop. In any case the top 2 will be Adam and Danny. Simon slipped up and gave that away on an interview but like he said, oh well, it’s not like we don’t already know those two are the best in the competition at this point. I’m not sure who would fill the number 3 spot but if I had to guess I would say Allison, but you never know, it could be Matt or Kris.
