American Idol 8 Top 10 – Danny Gokey “Get Ready”

Danny Gokey chose to sing “Get Ready” and I feel like it might be too fast of a song for him to really let loose the way he likes to.  Still, it ended up being a relatively good, very energetic performance.  He even did a little Motown-style dancing with the backup singers.  Anyone notice how this baseline was modified from the original?  I loved that!

motown_week_danny_gokeyPaula said that she loves him and he gives a first-class performance every week.  Simon said that it was a clumsy and amateurish performance.  Randy said he loved the energy and feeling of it.  Kara said that it was good, not great, but that she is still a Danny fan.

I love the way he sang when he was with Smokie. From the show, it seems the beat was much faster and Danny almost couldn’t catch up with it several times which I believe it is the reason why Mr. Simon said “Clumpsy”

I agree. I don’t think he’s a standout. I’m so surprised Matt was in the bottom 3 over Danny last night.

He’s way too overrated, i really don’t like his voice neither his style, i hope he doesn’t win because he hasn’t convinced me
