Chris Sligh was eliminated on March 28, 2007 from season 6 of American Idol. It was the week when Gwen Stefani was coaching and she commented on the thing that bothered me about Chris in later weeks – the dreaded tempo issue. When he veered away from songs that were more within his comfort zone, he seemed to sing ahead of the music. Great voice, though, so I’m hoping that’s all resolved now :)
Like Stephanie Edwards, Chris probably left the competition before he deserved it which is too bad. Last season was really bad that way.
Here’s the video of Chris performing "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic"

I think Chris is an extremely talented young man. One of the things that stood out about Chris versus the other contestants this year is that his talent is so diverse. He sings, writes his own music, plays several instruments, produces and acts. He has a marvelous sense of humor. Top that off with the fact that he is one of the nicest, most down to earth people you could ever meet. I think he is going to do very well in his career and it won’t just be in singing. I see him eventually going on to cultivate and produce new and upcoming talent in the music industry.

Chris Sligh is a good singer and he started out on AI with a bang. It seemed to me nerves got the better of him as time went by. He had a humorous personility too.
Rosalee – thanks for the info on the Westerly show. I’ve been wondering!!!
Chris Sligh is the best. He has a beautiful voice, and is a great songwriter and producer. He has a wonderful career ahead of him. He’s currently working on an album, due out April 8th, so keep an eye (and ear) out for it!
BTW, the Westerly, RI New Year’s Eve show was terrific! Chris and his band performed for 90 minutes with no break (16 songs). The mix included two Beatles tunes, a U2 number and many originals.
i loved chris sligh. (: i think he needed more time to show his talent and it couldn’t be decided based on just one or two songs. i hope he still has a good career in music! i meet him @ the american idol’s live! tour. he’s really nice (: !
No offense to anyone but that was really bad. lol Not that Chris. S isn’t a good singer cause he is. I think he got voted off at the right time.
