Sanjaya Malakar was eliminated on April 18, 2007. By far, he was the most talked about contestant on American Idol that season and maybe ever. Some thought he was an atrocious singer whose presence brought down the integrity of the show. Others saw him as an individual who possessed true showmanship and added something interesting to an otherwise boring season. What did you think of Sanjaya?
Here’s a video of him performing "Something To Talk About"

Oh-please no!!!! Jeanne! The Holidays are over no more turkey …oh it’s Sanjaya…LOL… lets make this the last time this year we have to hear him cackle, I mean sing
He’s a nice boy and all but, carrying a tune by himself (not in a choir) other than in a karaoke bar, is just not for him if he hasn’t gotten any voice coach training since Idol. Sorry Sanjaya fans I know you guys are probably going to reem me a new one for that but hey it’s a new year and if people can not take consructive critizism about someone OTHER than themselves, then go back and start the year over. He needs tough love and someone to tell him to get a voice coach and step up his game and put out a banging album, don’t baby him and say he sounds great! We see what that did for Britney and look how she is ending up…tough love people tough love!
Sanjaya is working with a vocal coach. A well known one named Seth Riggs who has worked with Stevie Wonder, Celine Dion, and whole bunch of artists. He is working very hard and I can’ wait for him to show what he can really do
Hopefully he returns next season to blow people away and to give them the finger
Ha-ha-ha Kelly I like that…give them the finger…good one! I’m glad he is working with a voice coach though. Good for him
The boy has so much talent, everyone will be positively blown away when his CD comes out !
And I have never in my life seen anyone so breathtakingly beautiful in my life !! I truly have to remind myself to breathe when he smiles !
Honestly I do hope he comes out with a banging CD BUT the real test will be to hear him live b/c anyone can make an album, seriously, but to be able to sing that well live and not lip sync will be the real test. Yes, we have all heard him sing live but he wasn’t that great, ok and sometimes aweful, but for the most part he was ok. But, with a voice coach he could do well so let’s hope he is doing well and can follow up his CD by performing the tracks just as good without lip syncing….time will tell and you can best believe if he doesn’t come correct the media and just people in general will rip him a new one…sad but this is America where society is pushing people to be entertained by others foul-ups!!!!
Welcome to 2008 the year of the painful truth
