Lauren – I agree, I don’t think American Idol was the proper place for politics as a whole. We have been slammed with politics for a while now and AI should have been politic-free.

I agree with Nigel in the sense that i disagree with bush’s tactics, but I’m not exactly sure if political issues like that should be involved in Idol.

I totally agree with Nigel. We all know majority of Americans are very embarrased by Bush and did not want him on the show. I cringed when I saw him on american idol. He is stupid and didnt deserve to be there.

Who does Nigel think he is? Even if he doesn’t like President Bush he should have a little respect for the highest office in our country. I like President Bush, but if I didn’t I wouldn’t announce it to the world. I suppose he would have loved to have Bill Clinton on the show if he was still the President.

I don’t really know how I feel about this comment. I do agree that if Nigel is not a citizen it should not have been his decision and the comment was not fair. On the other hand, I personally didn’t think politics should have been brought to Idol in the first place.

My comment was left under wrong article. I did state that I thought many people behind the scenes of AI are a little ignorant for various reasons and Nygel Lythgoe has proven my point. Not everyone in this country is embarrassed by President Bush and he should keep his comments to himself and have a little respect for the office of the President of the United States.

I don’t think that all people think that President Bush has lost all credibility.
The hollywood people are whom denigrates the President of the United States and I don’t allow myself to follow their lead or opinions.There are pros and cons to all Presidents and Clinton was the one who embasrased the office but I still gave him the respect that the office deserves.

It would have lent no credibility at all to have GWB on the show. It would only give more credence as to what a farce that show has become, as GWB himself has lost all credibility in this country.

As far as Nigel being a Brit, is he a citizen here? If he is, then he can say whatever the hell he wants. But if he is not, then he has no room for making statements about the President here when his own Monarchy is a farce as well!

I hate to be the xenophobe, but as a Brit, Nigel has no right to say “we,” when talking about America. I understand it’s his show, and I’m not exactly a man who glows with praise for Bush, but it would have lent the show some much needed credibility to have the President on there, especially when HE’S the one requesting to be on!
