American Idol is the Root of All Evil?

Lewis Black Root of All EvilTonight on Lewis Black’s Comedy Central show, Root of All Evil, the comic will be talking to Andy Kindler and Patton Oswalt about the evils of American Idol.  Here’s what the network sent me as an explanation of the episode:

“Both high school and American Idol feature harsh social criticisms, popularity contests, and shady characters – be it Ryan Seacrest, or the neighborhood creep.  But which is more evil – calculus homework, or bad renditions of Aretha Franklin songs aired three times a week?  To decide, Patton Oswalt and Andy Kindler go head to head in the court of the honorable judge Lewis Black, the ultimate evaluator of evil.  Tune in tonight at 10:30 p.m. on Comedy Central.”

Sounds hilarious but, then again, I really like Lewis Black.  Watch a video:

From where I sit, your country is soooo divided and polarized — soon everybody is going to spy on everybody with state police and FBI and NSA watching over… just like Russia 20 years ago. American Idol is one thing that at least brings 30 million of you to the same forum. Great country, watch it fall…

It is evil. But then again you’re conscious, so you allready knew that.

You know, I am american but just by geography. I would love to see this country fall. It’s become a degenerate cesspool where the masses would rather vote for the next american failure rather than it’s successor. But, I am also a lover of discord which definitely contributes to this idea. All in all, I’m aiming my sights on europe for residency.
