American Idol Results Show Live- Blogging

I normally don’t do live-blogging but on this special occasion, I have to. Please forgive the typos!

OMG, I am so nervous! The three are are sitting on the couch looking scared and Elliott Yamin and Maroon 5 will be performing tonight…They’re reviewing last night’s performances. I am so scared right now.

I hate when the judges make predictions or give their opinions after the performances. I think it is inappropriate and biased and would be best if they said these things after the votes have been cast at the beginning of the Results Show. UGH!!! It makes me so mad. Poor Blake has to stand there and just feel left out and that’s wrong, in my opinion.

Now they are talking about the American Idol tour and how it’s going to be one of the biggest tours ever.

Ryan is talking to the top 3 about their trips back home. Dayum! Jordin comes from a wealthy looking area in Arizona. Her return to her school was kinda cute. I loved her reunion with her best friend. How sweet! Of course, she sang her theme song “I Who Have Nothing.” I am growing a bit tired of hearing it, to tell the truth, but I would feel that way about any song I’ve heard over and over again. Ryan has Jordin in the middle of the stage and he’s reviewing the judges’ comments from last night. But he won’t tell her if she is safe.

Commercial break

They take a look at Blake’s homecoming. Blake looks like he is just having a blast and really enjoying himself. His reunion with his parents was pretty touching. The audio at his concert was not great, though. He sang, “Somewhere Only We Know.” They also showed him singing the national anthem at the Mariners game. Ryan tells Blake that he can’t tell him his results.

Elliott Yamin performs. He sounds even better than he did when he was on Idol, if that is possible. I love him! His teeth are a bit too perfect but that’s okay. The judges all told him that he did a great job. Ryan and Elliott joke about endorsing products and they cut to the break. Ryan announces that Melinda’s footage will be shown after the commercial break but he chooses poor wording “after the break, Melinda goes home.” Sheesh.

Commercial break

Ford Commercial – They picked kids that look like Blake, Melinda and Jordin and showed them singing in their rooms and growing up to be stars. The kids were good choices but the commercial was a bit lame. I normally like these!

Melinda’s footage is fantastic. Her fans were super organized. They had coordinated red shirts and signs. It was a sea of red in support of Melinda and they unveiled a street renamed “Melinda Doolittle Way” in her honor. She was so overwhelmed. I love her humility. Ryan talks to her at center stage but does not give her the results.

Commercial break

Maroon 5 performs. Adam Levine is a mega-hottie but what is up with his hair? Who cut it – Forrest Gump? And talk about a dry performance. It looks like a cardboard cutout of Adam moving across the stage. The song is good but it sounds bad without backup singers. The chorus of this song has some heavy backup vocals and it sounds naked without them. I am upset because I love Maroon 5 so much but this was interesting… to say the least.

Melinda goes home. I cannot believe it.
