Amy Catherine Flynn is a 16-year-old and is the leader of her dance group and an advocate for STARS (students teaching and respecting sexuality). She even gave the judges a little lecture about abstinence. She sang "Reflection" and Simon said that "a lot of people are going to find her annoying" but she got a "yes" from all three judges.
It should be interesting having two attractive 16-year-olds in the group (Amy and yesterday’s David Archuleta!).

She actually really is annoying. Not the whole STARS thing, b/c it’s really commendable when a young girl takes a stand like that now-a-days BUT that whole “bring it on” girls mentality is like so like old and like no one wants to like hear her like totally talk like that! It is very annoying and only her fellow compadres would find that crazy talk like so totally cool! UGH! give me a break…I would rather listen to Kellie Pickler talk and she is very annoying to me….but this girl may not be strong enough to make it passed the first round in Hollywood.
She’s not even as good as Sanjaya, but she may stay on simply *because* she’s so annoying!
Amy’s voice is very mature for 16. She seems composed and confident – in stark contrast, I believe, to many other 16 year-old youths. Seems to me that a young lady in a position of leadership, with that much all-around talent, and a passion for her cause would be a would make a wonderful addition to the contestants. I, too, am agrivated by the speech pattern (like um, okay, like…), and it needs to STOP, but she is certainly not the only one who is like guilty of like talking like a valley girl!
Mel S- LOL I know there are soooo many more “valley girls” around lord knows I was stuck on a bus full of them when I did the Super Bowl last year…it was horror! I actually stood up and said If anyone else says “Like Oh My God one more time I’m going to slap all of you” we actually counted and it was said 57 times in 3 minutes…LOL it was just sooo annoying and they got the picture and was quiet for the rest of the trip….too funny. But you are so right she may last just b/c it’s annoying…..I wonder who will be VoteForTheWost next candidate…hmmmmmm
I’m a voice instructor from Manhattan, NY. She actually has an amazing voice if she learns to control her dynamics. Meaning, her voice changes volume abruptly. She needs to learn the right time to sing soft and the right time to bring the volume up with a smooth transition. If she does this, you will see her in the final competition next year. And yes, she definitely should try again next year.
Add the fact that she has a very playfull personality, morals and she is beautiful. That’s the formula to become a pop star.
