The show started with a group performance of “School’s Out” which is one of my favorite songs to play on Guitar Hero: Legends of Rock. It was pretty cool to see the contestants rock out like that.
Danny Gokey had me cracking up as he talked about how funny it was to watch his performance from last night. Judge Simon Cowell had said his last note sounded like something from a horror movie and Danny had to agree. He said that his own aunt had muted it and he heard that people were making ringtones. Too funny!
We were treated with a little montage of Paula Abdul’s career before she performed her new single “I’m Just Here for the Music.” The lip-synching is unacceptable, can I just say? A lot of celebrities bomb majorly because they try to perform LIVE on the Idol stage and I think it’s sort of a right of passage. There’s no flipping way she was moving like that and singing. BUT I do have to give her major kudos for those amazing moves. She really blew me away by jumping off the stage and being flipped around like that. Fierce!
On the flipside, I kinda wish that Gwen Stefani from No Doubt had lip-synched as she warbled her way through “Just a Girl.” No further comment needed. Moving on…
Over 64 million votes were cast which is the highest number outside of a finale. Go America!
Kris Allen was the first to be sent to safety! I’m pretty happy with it because he’s humble, inventive and cute.
Daughtry performed their new song “No Surprise” from their upcoming album Leave This Town. What do you think of the song? I’m not a huge fan of it, to be honest.
Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey joined Kris on the couch but Allison Iraheta was sent home. I can’t say that I’m too surprised but it’s too bad. She’s got a great voice but she really needs to come out of her shell and connect more with her audience.

yeah, Daughtry was great.
No Doubt wasn’t.
And I was surprised by Paula. She danced well.
I can’t imagine having to sing while doing that though. The only thing I don’t like about lip syncing is everyone knows you are, so why bother faking the microphone headset?
I thought the show was too crammed to try to fit it all in, wish there only would’ve been two performances instead of all of them in one show.
I loved Paula’s performance, it’s good to see her dance again. I don’t get what the big deal is about her lip synching, who cares? It’s still her vocals recorded and besides that I don’t blame her, I couldn’t perform a routine while doing all she did and staying in time with everything. Paula is amazing and considering all she has been through, it’s a pretty big miracle that she is even able to move as well as she can. I can’t imagine what she much have been feeling to go out there and do that after everything that she’s gone through over the past few years. I’m so excited for her and as a fan I was just on cloud 9.
No Doubt was completely horrible, don’t know why it took me this long to figure it out, but finally realized Gwen really can’t sing. They need to just hang it up seriously, seems kinda funny how the cds sound better than than her actually singing live.
I’m excited to hear new stuff from Daughtry. I really like the new song, it’s good to see him back on Idol.
I thought for sure Danny was going home, so I was pretty surprised when Allison went. I didn’t really like her voice that much either, but she at least didn’t have that scream that Danny did.
Honestly I doubt anyone from this season will blow up, Adam is good but.. from the first time we saw him we KNEW he was gonna be the winner, Allison is much better then any of the TOP 4, imo I think Allison and Matt should have been the Top 2.
Come on people, NO ONE could dance like Paula did and sing. I will agree that it is hypocritical for her to come out and lip synch being an Idol judge, however, her showcase of dancing ability was amazing.
No Doubt singing such an old song? LAME!!!!! I skipped right over that, just like I skip over Paula when she makes her judges comments.
I wasn’t jumping up and down for Daughtry, but it was ok. I liked that they debuted a new song because I hear his other songs on the radio about 8x a day and I’m tired of them.
I definitely think America got it wrong sending Allison home. Yes she is young but she definitely knows who she is. This experience will give her a confidence booster and she will go on to do great things in her career.
Adam continues to blow me away each week. His ability is WAY above anyone I’ve ever seen on Idol before. It would probably work out better for him to come in 2nd or 3rd place and get a band like Daughtry, don’t you think?

I really wished ADAM and ALLISON 2 be n the TOP 2 it will be great show it will be A&A Finals …. I think Allison deserve to stay more than Kriss or Danny …. I know she will go far more than both of them … ADAM was so sad 4 her to leave he was trying to hold his tears she always was with him n every where .. I hope now he win it no one else now deserve it but ADAM I will voooooooooooote 4 him all the way
Sorry about Allison, guys! It’s strange that everyone was disappointed and she’s gone. Are the votes not counting again???

Jeanne I have to say Paula’s performance vocally was such a sham.
I cannot believe a judge who criticizes contestants for not
showing vocal abilities had the nerve to get up there and lip sync a synthisized voice over.
She was on Y100′s Elvis Duran morning show this morning and they asked
her what she would have said or felt if the other judges critiqued
that performance and she studdard thru the answer and just said
That she would have just tld them she was nervous. By the way she sounded
Like she was on pain meds or drunk! But hey that’s Paula right?!
On another note I was a little disappointed to see Allison go but she will have a great career.
This is totally unfair…
A) I loved allison. she’s great & i can’t wait to hear what her cd’s gonna be like. it’s gonna be on repeat in my house, i know that for sure.
B) Adam was pretty much handed a spot in the finale on a silver platter. Rock is his thing, so the producers must have felt it would keep him around longer after he was finally in the bottom 2 the week before. He needs to go. Like now.
C) Don’t think i’m a just like Kris, Danny, and Allison cuz i severely dislike Adam.. my fav’s this season have always been Megan Joy, Allison Iraheta, Danny Gokey and Kris Allen. But it was completely unfair of American Idol to put Allison & Adam together when they’re the two rockers, and leave Kris and Danny to a duo when rock’s not so much their thing… Guess it didn’t matter for allison though anyways.. >:(
Now i can’t wait for the Idols Live! tour, cuz i’m going to support my fav 4 <3
America, get it right. Get rid of Adam before the finale. I don’t think i can take much more of him.

That’s just not fair. Danny should have gotten kicked out. His last note KILLED, in a bad way. And also, he’s the current vote for worsters at http://www.votefortheworst.com. Just thought I’d let people know. :P
Hmmm not surprised but based on last night’s performance, Danny should go and not Allison.
Anyway, glad the 3 guys make it to top 3.
