Here we go!!! It’s the first results show in the seventh season of American Idol. I’m live blogging so forgive typos and spelling errors :) I will be adding pictures and video shortly.
Ooooh. Paula Abdul is talking about the past record deals of former Idol contestants (like Kelly Clarkson).
Now they are showing a montage of the Top 24 set to a Chris Daughtry song. They are singing a medley of 1960s songs. Wow. What is this? High School Musical??? I did not like this group performance.
Watch it now:
Eliminations after the jump!
They recapped the Top 12 guys. Ryan Seacrest just announced that Garrett Haley has been eliminated (makes sense, sorry). Ugh – he’s performing. I hate this part. I am baffled as to how he got through to the Top 24.
Watch Garrett’s Elimination:
Top 12 girls are being recapped. Amy Davis has been eliminated. Sorry, but after last night, this seems like the right choice. Oh my gosh, the singing is even worse tonight. My 4-year-old said that if she sings again she’s leaving. That was too funny.
Watch Amy’s elimination:
They’ve just shown the video for Paula’s new single “Dance Like There’s No Tomorrow.” Watch it here!
Ryan called up Joanne Borgella and Amanda Overmyer and told everyone else they are safe. *commercial break* We’re back and Joanne has been eliminated. I love Amanda but she did not do well at all either.
Watch Joanne’s elimination:
Ryan called Chikezie Eze and Colton Berry up to the center of the stage. Colton has been eliminated. So many of my readers have expressed their dislike for him and Simon just told him to not even pursue a post-Idol singing career – OUCH!!!!
Watch Colton’s elimination:
Now they are showing a “goodbye” montage.

@Robyn – NOOOOO!!!! I didn’t even think of that, but I can totally see it. Oh, man, and I loved him, too…

I reall think the correct people for voted off. For ONCE am happy with America’s decisions especially with the boys. Those two would NOT have cut it in the top 12, they are good, they just dont have star power–sorry guys. I think what Simon said to colton was a little uncalled for though, I dont care who you are. I was sad to see Joanne go, but I’m just hoping America gets it right for the next 2 weeks!! Happy Voting!
I think they hit it right on eliminating Garrett. He had to go. I’m glad Colton left too. I really wished Danny would of been off. I think he is going to turn into another Sanjaya. OH NO!!
It was high school musical-ish
I thought that Luke Menard and Jason Yeager should have been the first to go. Oh my word, he was terrible on performance night! I thought for sure it would be one or both of them or possibly Chikezie. Come ON people!
Oh, and I can’t believe Kristy Lee Cook slid under the wire. She was not good. And what was up with that psycho eye thing she kept doing during her performance last night? Weird…
I agree about the group number. They always make me cringe. Maybe less so without the costumes? It’s a little too shades-of-high-school-show-choir for me… ;)

I could name a couple more girls that should have gone before Joanne…but she would have gone out before the top 12 anyway so it makes no difference when…and Amy…well, it makes me feel good to know that pretty people don’t always get it all.
Dead on with the boys! There’s a few more I can’t wait to see go so I hope America keeps up the honest work ;o)
Thanks for this blog!
I hate the suspense of waiting out here in Cali when I know the bottoms have already been announced. Thanks for letting us know early!
