American Idol season 5 finalist, Bucky Covington, can look back on 2007 as a good year – he ends it as Country Aircheck’s #1 New Artist for 2007. His first single "A Different World" and his current hit, "It’s Good To Be Us," have earned more than 643 million audience impressions in 2007.
I read the following on the official Idol site:
Bucky’s self-titled debut CD released in April 2007 and opened at #1 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart. With sales of 61,000 units in the first week of release, Bucky ends the year as not only 2007’s biggest unit debut from a new country artist, but also the best first week sales and highest Top 200 debut for any new male country artist in fifteen years.
As a result of his radio and sales success, Clear Channel recently selected Bucky as one of only five country artists in their "Best of 2007" class. Country radio programmers also chose Bucky for 2008’s CRS New Faces Show.
In early 2008 Bucky is scheduled to open select dates on Trace Adkins’ "American Man" tour. He’ll also team up in the new year with Dierks Bentley for the singer’s "Throttle Wide Open" tour.
I’m really happy for Bucky. It can be hard enough for the winner and runner-up on Idol to do well and he’s making the most of the start the show has given him. Congrats, Bucky!!!
OK, this is good, but the thing that fascinates me about him is that he is a twim and his brother plays in his band. They seem to both be happy and taht is fantastic, but don’t you ever wonder if the twin thinks “there but for the grace of God, go I…..”?

For those who have not heard his latest single. It is “It’s good to be us” it is a happy song that makes you feel GOOD!
Bucky was one of my favorites season 5 of idol. It was the best of the seasons along with season 2, at least in my opinion.
I bought Bucky’s cd as soon as it came out and I love it! Listened to it over and over in the car. I’m very happy for his success and I’m so glad that he seems to be so well regarded now in the industry. I love his voice and look forward to another cd from him.
