America's Best Dance Crew: A Tribute to Beat Freaks

I just want to go on record saying that this season of America’s Best Dance Crew was not only the most amazing season so far, but it’s important to note that two of the final three crews were all-female crews. All season long, I thought Beat Freaks were one of the dominant crews. Even Shane Sparks told me this afternoon that he expected them to win.

And in their own way, I truly believe that they were also winners this season. They may not have been given the trophy or the title, but they truly represented all women hip-hop dancers everywhere. Thy were spectacular all season.

I loved what Lil Mama had to say about this year being one of change, because as she said, the Beat Freaks brought a change in the way people see all-female dance crews now. Our expectations of dance crews being all men have been shattered. These women proved that being a great dace crew has nothing to do with gender.

Congratulations, Beat Freaks! You helped change the world of dance!!
