Angelina Jolie headed to the National Geographic Museum after arriving in Washington, D.C.

She took part in a World Refugee Day conference, then spoke to the audience, addressing the fact that leading world countries need to step up and help refugees to either obtain asylum during times of tragedy or to help them safely make their way back home.

I’m hoping to find video footage of her speech; I’ll put it up if and when I do.
(edit: we’re currently experiencing a problem with the comments and I apologize for the frustration – the tech team is trying to resolve it right now. Please feel free to continue to comment, because they actually are going through, they just aren’t showing up at the moment but they will appear as soon as tech gets things sorted out. I’m sorry for the problems!)

Thanks for this story, Sherry! That pic under the caption speaks more than a thousand words. Angie is hugging an African woman who could easily be Zahara when she grows up. I was really touched to see the photos in which Angie is crying. She gets touched every time she speaks about the refugees. Brad should be so lucky to have found such a caring woman. It´s great that he met her and fell in love with her. They´re so meant to be together. Love Angie and Brad and their beautiful family. Hopefully there will be many more years ahead of them and many more children (both adopted and biological). God bless them!
Iam so proud of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt,Barack Obama,Michelle Obama,George Clooney and I am sure there are others.
We may not have the money that they have. But on the home front service
is service. There are Americans just like you and I that need our help,
our kindness. We either stand together or we all shall fall.
They are doing there bit for the world and we can do our bit for America.
God bless America and the World.
Happy to be able to see the comments today. I guess we all depend on Pittwatch so much.

After a night of not clubbing in Dubai, Paris Hilton spent a portion of her day writing about World Refugee Day and patting herself on the back for someone else’s greatness.
