Angelina Jolie Cannes Style – Green vs Beige

It’s definite! Although some people voiced an opinion that they liked Angelina Jolie’s flowing beige dress, most people did not love it. Like I said earlier, I think she still looks gorgeous because she’s so radiant but I’m not crazy about the second Cannes red carpet dress.

Angelina Jolie Cannes style

I absolutely prefer the green dress from the Kung Fu Panda red carpet and I think most other people did as well.

Either way, I love seeing Angelina Jolie dressed up and on the red carpet. Even with a less than perfect dress, you just can’t make her unattractive. It would be hard work to make her anything other than beautiful.

As an aside, here are two other photos from the Cannes Changeling red carpet. This one is just beautiful, taken at the end of the night as they were leaving and my goodness Brad Pitt looks yummy.

And Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are truly a power couple but looking at this photo of Angelina and Clint? What a power DUO. It would have been so great to watch the two of them interacting on set, and what an honor to have him directing.

And thus wraps another year at Cannes! Next up? Seeing where the Jolie-Pitt family will head next, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt‘s birthday next week, and waiting for the twins!

I find she looks great in anything. Only a woman like Angie could pull off looking “hot” while pregnant.

I Hope This Doesnt Sound Strange But I Prefer The Green Dress Because I Prefer Angie With Some Cleavage Showing :)….. But Of Course Shes Beautiful In The Beige Dress. The Woman Is Pregnant With Twins!! If I Were Pregnant With Twins I Promise You I Would Look A Hot Mess :)

Here is a first hand account of yesterday from Lainey. A little out there sometimes Lainey but she is a fan.

i think the beige dress probably isn’t photographing very well (i.e., it looked better in person). it would have been nice with a sash, or something to stop the mumu-ness around the middle. the green is much more of a statement, maybe a sign that jolie felt a little more stressed when dressing for the changeling premier (it’s a very important film in her career..i suspect oscar..yay!!). i think ange has a tendency to play down her looks, if only because she doesn’t want to be just another pretty face or girly girl.

Bottom Line: Clint Eastwood again brilliantly portrays the struggle of the outsider against a fraudulent system.

By Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter, May 20, 2008

CANNES — For only the second time in his filmmaking career, Clint Eastwood’s celebration of the loner who bucks the system settles on a heroine. Like Hilary Swank’s boxer in “Million Dollar Baby,” Angelina Jolie’s single mother, Christine Collins, takes every punch thrown at her and comes back fighting.

“Changeling” brushes away the romantic notion of a more innocent time to reveal a Los Angeles circa 1928 awash in corruption and steeped in a culture that treats women as hysterical and unreliable beings when they challenge male wisdom.

Jolie puts on a powerful emotional display as a tenacious woman who gathers strength from the forces that oppose her. She reminds us that there is nothing so fierce as a mother protecting her cub. Jolie completely shuns her movie star image to play a woman whose confidence in everything she thinks she knows is shaken to its very core. She can appear vulnerable and steadfast in the same moment. This woman has a depth she herself has never explored.

I also like the green the best, but the more I see the beige dress the better I like it. The beading around the neck looks stunning. I love her hair and makeup. In fact Angie I feel, never looks like she has makeup on. I am also wondering where they will go from here. I think it will be some place away from the crazy crowds and pap’s. She will start to feel more and more tired each week that passes. Carrying one baby is hard enough, but carrying two I am sure is hard. Hope Shiloh has a great 2nd birthday. Love this family so much.

Under mod – another great Changeling review by FoxNews’ Roger Friedman:

By the way, “Changeling” is a movie no one except Angelina wanted to make. She convinced Clint and Universal Pictures’ Ron Meyer, who set it up with Imagine’s Brian Grazer. Kudos to them.

Clint Eastwood came to Cannes Tuesday night and made everyone’s week.
There’s a strong feeling that in this desultory year of selections, Clint may be headed to the Palme D’or prize on Sunday…The Cannes audience, which has been free with ovations this year, really went wild at the end of “Changeling.” With Clint, star Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt all present, the audience could not stop cheering and clapping. They loved this drama about a woman named Christine Collins (Jolie) in Los Angeles circa 1928 whose child disappears. But we’re supposed to suspend disbelief, which is not hard to do.
Jolie is nevertheless riveting. There are no histrionics, and I can’t recall more than one time when she cries. Otherwise her performance as a single, powerless mother with few resources is the model of restraint. She is often sublime.
Is “Changeling” Oscar material? The word around here is definitely yes. Jolie — who’s about to give birth here in the South of France to twins — will be a glowing new mother of 6-month-olds by the time her nomination is announced in January.
By the way, “Changeling” is a movie no one except Angelina wanted to make. She convinced Clint and Universal Pictures’ Ron Meyer, who set it up with Imagine’s Brian Grazer. Kudos to them.

(I didn’t know Angelina was the driving force – amazing.)

Both dresses were appropriate for the movies she was representing I think. Angie can pull off any dress. I agree with Ladi though that only angie could pull off the beige (gray?) one LOL.

I have to be honest — that beige dress looks terrible. It looks like a sack! The only thing saving it is that it is fitted out on a beautiful woman who can carry off any thing. It is so hideous. Angie is getting so big, and then to wear a loose tent…… yikes. Among the only bad clothing choices she has ever made in the last few years.

Oh I forgot to say that I love Clint Eastwood, he is great. And he was such a hunk when he was young, like in The good, the bad and the ugly. So sexxxy! :( Life is cruel but he still looks good for a 78 year old man.
(His jazz musician son -Kyle- is also cute)

It did take some time for me to get used to the beige dress, although the more I look at it, the more I like it. Still I like the green dress better, but the one I liked best is the white dress she wore at the Kung Fu Panda photo call with Dustin and Jack. Well, at least now that their time at the Cannes RC is over, here’s hoping the family can finally have some private time, especially during Shiloh’s birthday. Although I gotta admit, a part of me would want to see pictures, but if not getting them means the JPs are having a grand time, then I’ll forego the pics. :)

Angelina is like wine, she gets finer with age!

i really like this site because eventhough we all have different opinions about angie’s dress, there is still respect and there is no one who will bash you if you disagree with other fans.

    thanks sherry. :)

In green dress she looked amazing,in beige she looks ok,though in my opinion it wasn’t the best choice. But,Angie can wear what she wants!:)Foe me,she looks better when she’s pregnant, than when she’s not:))

Like few people on here, I also think that the caftan choice, the jewelry and the makeup make Angelina look older, but compares to the yummy yummy cutie emerald dress, it make her looks more sophisticated and gives her a dignified stance of an African queen. BTW Angelina never pretends to look younger than she is, because she’s still young after all. The green dress was okay for Kung Fu Panda, the grey one(why beige? it’s not beige I think) was perfect for Clint’s movie.

Ha ha alors les filles c’est l’invasion française sur ce site! Je trouve que c’est sympa ici, ça change des autres sites US où les forumeuses s’insultent et se tapent dessus pour des potaches. Tss. sur ce @ plus, biz!!!!!

I prefer when she wears “informal” dresses like the hippie one when she left her hotel, the black one when she went shopping or the light green one when she went out of the car. Of course she is always beautiful but I think evening gowns make her look older. And so do the hair and the make up. In my opinion, she looks better/younger/healthier “au naturel”

I thought her pregnancy would bring her cheeks back like in her prime, but she looks a bit tired instead.

    @Mélodie
Oui je suis française. J’ai découvert ce site en trainant sur le net à la recherche de “potins” car je passe mes journées sur l’ordi au boulot alors de temps en temps ça me change les idées ;-)

    Bye***

I liked both dresses but then I don’t really know anything about fashion or style! They really are an old fashioned glamour couple when it comes to the red carpet. Angelina’s eyes are absolutely stunning in the beige dress, she’s completely bewitching. Imagine what it would be like to stand near the in real life and make eye contact with those eyes.

The “next up” part of their journey has me really intrigued – wonder where they will go, if they do decide to leave France before the birth? If the due date of August 19 is correct and taken as 40 weeks gestation exactly (even though there is probably some leeway) then that means Angelina is currently 27 weeks along (she’ll be 28 weeks on Shiloh’s birthday which is a lovely little milestone for both of them). Then again, we don’t really know if the due date is true or not. I suppose just have to wait and see.

I prefer the beige one. Its really modest and reminds me of Liz Taylor’s early Hollywood days (Cleopatra-esque). I love that colour on her too. I hate showing cleavage, so I imagine she feels quite safe in the bigger one.

Really love it when we all share our different opinions… thanks, Sherry.
