I thought this story was really cute! Angelina Jolie has a very special fan over on MySpace, someone who dreams of meeting her some day and who has tried to figure out the best way to do exactly that. Here’s what USA Today has to say about the fan:
Kirk from Los Angeles would appear to be just another typical MySpace denizen. His page reveals that he’s a Sagittarius, loves movies and wants to meet Angelina Jolie. Get in line, kid.
Or maybe not.
“I suppose I could just call her dad (actor Jon Voight) and set that up,” says Kirk Douglas, who faithfully updates his page once a week. “As long as my wife says it’s OK.”
How adorable is that? When I first started to read it, I thought, “yeah, sure. Keep dreaming, you and all kinds of other people want to meet her!” But okay, I guess that Kirk Douglas could probably manage to meet Angie after all. I thought the “as long as my wife says it’s OK” was funny!
The article is actually about the use of social media websites – I think it’s pretty cool that Kirk is online, most people that age have no interest in the Internet. Now we just need to set him up with a blog and a Twitter account!
It just goes to show that Angelina Jolie appeals to people of all ages, from the kids who think she’s cool because of her animated films right up to living legend actors in their 90s!

Coal- I like that article, too (well, except for the fact that they titled it “Brad Pitt tells all about marriage and fatherhood”, sincce Brad and Angie aren’t actually married. However, maybe they just had trouble coming up with other approprite ways to refer to their relationship.)! I especially love this part:
“We have help when we need it and I even get to sleep once in a while. Our house is always full of activity and the kids keep us busy most of the day. But that’s part of the beauty of having a big family and enjoying that spirit.”
I love how he admits that they DO have help…But that they only use the nannies when they really need them. That should show the h8ters who always claim they have about a billion nannies and don’t really do much parenting themselves.
I also love the fact that he can joke around about the lack of sleep that comes from having two babies and four other kids all under the age of 8. “I even get to sleep once in awhile”, LOL!
Neela- Not really, actually. According to all three involved (Brad, Angie, and JA), Brad did NOT cheat on JA with Angie. However, maybe you just meant that micheal was being hypocritical by insuinating that Brad cheated when he has cheated himself.
Cassie- “A GQ reader wrote in that Mad and Z had been adopted so therefore they weren’t orphans.” I am very glad to hear that. I think Micheal Douglas was trying to make a crack about Angie adopting kids who were orphans, rather than trying to say that they still were orphans. Even so, he shouldn’t have said that.
Thank you Neer. When you get to be my age, you remember 10 years ago as if it were today, and today, as if it never happened! That was something that just stuck in my head.
I think of this great interview everytime I see those terrible tabloid stories.

Oh…if I ever met the Angelina and the family…. hmm. I would probably be speechless for a little while, then I would tell them how much they have inspired me to be more generous.
Call me crazy, but I would offer my house for the whole family to stay, not that they need somewhere to stay for free and not that they would ever take my offer. I live in a beautiful but remote part of the country; they would probably like that, no paps. I would of course stay somewhere else during their stay so they can have their privacy and visit with them occasionally, play with the kids and talk about life. I would love to hear Angelina giggle.

I know it’s a crazy dream…but if you’re going to dream, you might as well dream big, right?

if michael did say that, then, it would be a case of hypocrisy. didn’t michael have a history of cheating when he was with his first wife?
I am a baby boomer myself and I am a fan of Angelina! She caught my attention when I saw her in GIA and have been a fan ever since. I too would love to meet her and Brad and all their children. I will have no trouble striking up a conversation with Brad since I am an architect. With Angie, I will probably be tongue-tied at first, but I will probably talk to her about her humanitarian work and her children.

Michael Douglass told GQ magazine that Brad left a wonderful woman to travel around the world with Angie carrying orphans “,how long do you think that will last”. He later denied that he said it but GQ said they had it on tape. A GQ reader wrote in that Mad and Z had been adopted so therefore they weren’t orphans . This was in 2005.

Thanks Joliepittfanatic. No hard feelings really that I did not get to see her. I actually knew that she was so pregnant then and she was in France and that most likely she is not coming. I think she missed the London premiere too. It was just me being hopelessly hopeful :) Thanks for the link Christy! I voted for our girl, but of course! By the way, I shouted “We love you!” to James McCavoy and people looked at me funny as if I was crazy but I did not care. I really think it was for Angie as if she was there (I’m sure she was in spirit).
Ducks, has to look up Kirk Douglas (the old one) and he is the father of Michael Douglas who’s married to Catherine Zeta-Jones. So you think Michael said some bad things about Angie? Anybody recollect? Hope everyone’s still having a great weekend !)
Wow, Angelina is really winning by a landslide in that poll.
I thought it was odd though – all the women in the poll are undeniably gorgeous, but they picked a terrible photo of Kate Moss. It’s blurry and hard to see. Why on earth did they choose that one?
Some of my favorite beauties are in the poll (Frieda Pinto, Penelope Cruz, Queen Rania), but Angie is definitely #1 for me.

My dream to meet Brad & Angie someday with their kids that’s double the fun. Just to see them is enough for me, I’m a huge fan ( my kids & hubby laugh at me )at my age, too late but it’s entertaining & they are inspirational.God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
