The first video clip from Angelina Jolie’s upcoming movie Changeling has been released. This isn’t an actual trailer for the film, but it does show them moment when Angelina‘s character, Christine Collins, comes to the train station to greet her son – and realizes that he is not her son at all.
Just that small clip of barely more than a minute is gut-wrenching. As a mother myself, I get the feeling that this movie is going to be gripping and moving.
Sadly, Changeling is based on a true story where a young woman’s son goes missing and is later found, and Christine Collins has to fight to get people to believe her when she says he’s not the right boy.
I can’t wait for the actual full trailer, and more importantly, I can not wait to see the movie! The movie will be released October 24 but for limited theaters. I’m not sure when the full release will be. Who else is eager to see Angelina Jolie in Changeling?

Yup, Angie is not a favourite with the Academy, (at least not after the Oscar for Girl Interrupted) and I also think this has to be some kind of “you can’t have it all” attitude. However Clint is the Academy’s all time darling and this time they will have to go with him and be kinder to Angie :-) Hopefully….
I feel that the problem with tabloids (being on the cover and in the issue) is overexposure. People, including awards voters, start thinking of actors as the celebrity personae the tabs have created. Even I have been influenced. I had to see Babel twice because the first time, I couldn’t get past looking at Brad as himself. It took a 2nd viewing to get past him and see his character.
Cary Grant, Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable and others during Hollywood’s Golden Age were recognizable, but they could inhabit different characters because the public didn’t know much about their private lives, if anything. Which is why some actors like Johnny Depp and Leonardo di Caprio try to keep their lives a mystery as much as possible.
Unfortunately, the JPs don’t have that opportunity. They captured the world’s interest just like Princess Diana did.
Yes, I saw this with reviews of Changeling during Cannes. Ever since I read what it was going to be about, I’ve wanted to see it. I really like Clint Eastwood too (since Rawhide, with a break during the Dirty Harry movies), so I’m chomping at the bit until it gets released.
Changeling and Angelina got rave reviews in Cannes, a lot of Oscar talk. There’s a cloud on the horizon, though. Some voting Academy members were put off by all the tabloid hoopla around Angelina – they acknowledged her AMH performance and her talent, but wanted to distance themselves as if Angelina was tainted. I wonder if this was the case for Brad and AJJBCRF.
Anyone have ideas on how the tabloids’ poison can be contained? When comments were running 100 to 1 against Angelina over a year ago, I’d try to post at least one comment a day against the worst uninformed lies. I felt it was important to show that at least one person respected Angelina – and the reasons) why.
Looking forward to this movie.
i really like this clip but it is not new. been up on youtube since cannes 2008, around may 20th.
I LOVE TO SEE ANGIE IN SOME REALLY HEAVY MOVIES. THIS ONE WILL BE DIFFERENT FROM THE MIGHTY HEART. IT WILL BE SHOWN IN ALL THEATERS. THE MIGHTY HEART WAS RESTRICTED, IT WAS NOT SHOWN IN ALL THE THEATERS IN THIS COUNTRY MUCH MORE IN OTHER COUNTRIES, IT WAS NOT EVEN SHOWN HERE IN HAVELOCK MAYBE BECUZ IT IS CLOSE TO THE MARINE CORP BASE. IT WAS NOT REALLY A FLOP MOVIE CONSIDERING HOW RESTRICTED IT WAS, IT WENT UP TO NO. 10 IT WAS STILL MAKING MILLIONS ON ITS FIRST WEEK. SO HOPEFULLY THIS ONE, I KNOW IT IS A TEAR JEAKER MOVIE SO BRING YOUR HANKIE OR A LOTS OF TISSUE PAPER.
This looks like it will be a very emotional movie and once again we will see how talented Angie is as an actress. I remember when I saw The Mighty Heart at home, tears were pouring down my face and I just could not stop it! It was Angie’s top notch performance but unfortunately she did not get nominated for an Oscar. Hopefully, with this role in Changling we will see her walking the red carpet at the Academy Award show next year as an Oscar nominee.
I’m eager to see it! I really like Clint Eastwood and the premises of the film sounds interesting.Unfortunately it’ll be long until the release of the film in France.
This video was already released during the cannes film festival though.
I definitely plan to see it. Angie just owns the roles she plays. Angie has great talent and draws you into the roles she plays. And Clint Eastwood movies are always good, guality movies.
