Angelina Jolie phone interview

Angelina Jolie did a radio interview where she talked about Wanted, life as a mother, and having to film the kissing scene with James McAvoy. James had mentioned that it was awfully awkward, something I’ve heard many actors in general say. You can listen to the interview over here.

The movie opens officially in just two more days – I’m so excited! I won’t be able to see it this weekend, but I’m hoping to see it soon. Who else is going?

Thanks to everyone for keeping things hopping over here in the comments while I was gone. We all enjoyed a much needed break out in the country by the lake, swimming, cooking food on the fire, listening to live music, and hiking. After a tiring trip home it was nice to find a lot of great conversation in the comments and not as many moderated comments as I had expected. That’s why I didn’t start a specific discussion thread, because I didn’t want it to get “broken” by missing comments. As for those of you who wondered why I was posting when I was away, that’s the magic of WordPress – I simply found several great videos on Friday, and set them to post one per day ahead of time. That way everyone had stuff to see each day even if I was far away from Internet access.

It was nice to get away from everything but it’s nice to be back too!

I’ve been curious to see Wanted, to see how well they can interpret this comic book. The trailers make it look very interesting, with lots of special effects and action.

Hey Ligaya…glad to hear that you like many things about Thailand. If you have a chance, I hope you can come to our country to visit and have our Thai famous dishes.

Back to Angie’s new release, I hope you will enjoy WANTED when you go watch it. I would enjoy it more if I didn’t browse too much into those trailers and teaser in youtube or the movie website itself.

Hee, that’s funny. Sort of like when a couple of friends came over for supper and I served Butter Chicken. They weren’t in the kitchen when I was prepping stuff so one of them asked if I could please give her the recipe. I laughed and said that it was pre-cooked from the grocery store, all I had done was put it in a baking dish to heat it in the oven. I love Indian food but it’s still new to me so I’m not quite comfortable enough to try cooking my own yet!

If I’m ever lucky enough to be in the Bay area I would totally take you up on that!

HA HA HA, Sherry. Hubby is ROTFLOL. We don’t know how to cook Thai food – we eat out at one of the many (reasonably priced) Thai restaurants in the SF Bay Area. ;-)

But we’re the tour guides with the mostest, we can show you the most fabulous views & things only locals know about. So DO let us know if you’ll be in the area. :-)

    Variety’s Weekend Forecast

Disney-Pixar summer tentpole “Wall-E” and Universal’s turbo-charged Angelina Jolie starrer “Wanted” should fuel a continued winning streak at the June box office as they open this weekend, capping an unexpectedly strong month in terms of theater traffic. “Wall-E,” the ninth pic from Pixar, is opening in 3,992 theaters, the R-rated “Wanted” in 3,175.

Earlier this month, DreamWorks Animation and Wall-E,” the whimsical tale of a robot who’s all alone on the planet Earth of the future, was receiving nothing but rave reviews as of Thursday afternoon and is predicted to win the weekend overall.

There have been a number of surprises, and this weekend could bring another with “Wanted” should the actioner outperform other R-rated pics that have bowed in the summer.

Paramount’s “Kung Fu Panda” opened to $60.2 million. (“Panda” has grossed $164.5 million through Wednesday, according to Rentrak.) “Panda” had the advantage of opening in a less-crowded playing field, while “Wall-E” has the advantage of carrying the Pixar brand.

Tracking is strong for “Wanted” across all audiences, although it should skew on the younger side. It’s not commonplace for R-rated actioners to open in summer, a season for more kid-friendly fare. “Wanted” could take business away from Universal and Marvel Studios’ “The Incredible Hulk.”

Based on tracking and the combined strength of the cast and the action factor, some box office forecasters believe “Wanted” could cross the $40 million mark in its bow. An opening in the $30 million-$40 million range would be considered good.

Universal’s day-and-date launch of “Wanted” may have the best shot since it has the highest profile of any newcomer with launches in 22 territories including Russia, South Korea and the U.K. Foreign markets have shown plenty of traction recently for actioners such as “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” “Iron Man,” “Jumper” and “I Am Legend.”

Paramount is expanding “Kung Fu Panda” into Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan, with $70 million already banked in Asia.

Ligaya – that’s it. This is not the first time you’ve talked about all the tasty food you guys eat at home so I have to warn you now, if I’m ever in your area I’m going to be begging to come over for dinner! :)

Cool, Sal – I hope I see the temples someday. My husband’s voice teacher is married to a Thai woman. We were at the wedding; she was absolutely beautiful in the traditional dress & jewelry – made me want another wedding. Thai food is a big favorite with us – especially garlic prawns, satay, pad thai, mango over sweet rice, Thai iced coffee & tea. :-)

Hey I already watched “WANTED” already and I think I like the ending of it. Angie is really cool. However, I want to tell those that are going to watch it that you shouldn’t watch too much of the teaser or explore the movie website as you’ll not be excited when you really go for it in cinema.

    Ligaya, I’m from Thailand.

When it rains, it pours – and it’s raining Angie. Another new video w/Angie & James

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/thedishrag/2008/06/angelina-joli-1.html

Angelina Jolie talks about how much she loved being “foxy” in “Wanted.” “I love being a mom, but I miss the action, playing and shooting things up. I love that stuff, I do,” says the actress, who next appears in Clint Eastwood’s far more serious period mystery, “Changeling.”

Her “Wanted” costar James McAvoy reveals the truth about how Angelina became his “tormentor” in this action-packed film. “She kicked my backside raw!”

ITA, Mary Ann. . . I hate that word “adopted” always being tagged after Maddox, Pax & Zahara. Together with Shiloh, those four wonderful kids are all children of Brad and Angie. . . period (.)

Welcome back, Sherry. Good to hear you had a great break. Can’t wait to see Wanted!

  17. By Linnéa

I CAN’T watch it this weekend. For some stupid reason, the swedish premiere is on september 12. By then I have moved to Denmark so I’m hoping they show it a bit earlier there, they usually do. In Sweden we don’t even have Kung Fu Panda yet! They honestly must want us to download it, how can they expect us to wait that long? It sucks, why show some movies MONTHS later than they are released in the rest of the world?

aa well, its nice to hear you have had a nice time on vacation atleast! You deserve it, you’re doing a great work keeping us all updated about Brangelina!

such a beautiful couple. LOVE them

  19. By Mary Ann

I am so proud to be a fan of this wonderful couple. I am also happy to see that alot of the news reports are saying things like: “the pair have four kids of their own and are expecting twins.” The adopted word is being left out more and more.
