I’m really enjoying the discussion post – as always, I have the best readers here at PittWatch because other than an occasional drive-by comment full of nothing but useless nasty snark (and luckily you don’t have to read it!), it’s been extremely civil even though not all of us agree with each other. Please come drop by and keep the conversation going!
In the meantime, here’s something a little more positive than the new issue of Vogue – how about the new issue of The Envelope with Angelina Jolie! Put out by the L.A. Times, The Envelope covers Angelina as a mother, mentions her humanitarian visit to Afghanistan, her work on Changeling, and her feelings on Hollywood vs. the rest of the world.
“I don’t dislike it here. I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures. And I love raising my kids in the world. I’m so fortunate that I get to do that.”
They also point out that being a celebrity is Angelina’s second job – after motherhood: “The center of my life is my kids.”
When asked about her role as Christine in Changeling, Angelina said:
“Christine fought so hard under such incredible circumstance for the rights of other women. It was a real story that I thought sent a positive message about what you can accomplish. About democracy in action.”
The Envelope says that it seems that she’s had a string of mother-centric roles lately, but Angelina said she thinks it’s got less to do with the fact that she’s a mother herself, and more to do with her age, and that once you get into your 30s there are more movie roles for women that revolve around family interactions.
(Still, right though she may be, I personally think that her incredible love of being a mother translates very well for her roles.)

for any u.k fans of angelina, there will be an interview with angelina on the simon mayo radio show on BBC FIVE LIVE between 2p.m and 4p.m. i am not sure if the interview is a pre-recorded one, or if angelina will be live on the show. if angelina is live on the show, i think either the jolie-pitts have flown to england on their way to berlin or she might be interviewed from berlin.

i cannot understand why you dislike JA so much, i mean, she was Brad’s wife, they were happy during a few years togheter, she never said bad things about brad after their divorce, she never criticizes brad and angie, she never hurt angie, she only said that it was “uncool” (it’s not like she said insults about her): i think i wouldn’t love to know that the new wife of my ex-husband “can’t wait to go to work” to be with him in a time when we were still married! (and i would too find it’s very uncool if she said it to the entire world! it’s a little bit humiliating for Jen, even if i’m sure angie didn’t want to hurt Jen when she said it!)
you know, you don’t have to be afraid, jen doesn’t want brad to come with her, she’s not a youngster, she knows that brad and angie are so much in love, that they have kids!
i don’t why i say all that things, maybe because i dislike injustice and i find that the way some of you consider jen is injust.

heaven: your comparison between “jennifer”’s quote has no sense: you can’t compare something SHE said with something a SOURCE said, that naturally don’t say the same things!!!! so Jen is not a liar!
you know, it’s the same thing as if you believed the “source” who said that when they were in holiday in France during the 2007 summer, angie cast a glas of wine on brad’s face!
you have to be more careful!
i just to say that i don’t prefer jen, even if i defend her a lot in my post! my number one still angie!

I think Aniston has a lot of growing up to do, which is amazing due to the fact that she is almost 40 years old. This smacks of highschool idiocy. She needs to move on and stop using Angelina to garnish sympathy for herself. Jeez, it’s been three years and several boyfriends later for her.

Sherry, why do you let really hateful, spiteful posts on JA come through? I won´t even go into any details anymore about how stupid they are, and how hypocritical (i.e. our Angie is praised for being candid and open, but JA should shut the **** up and never express her feelings). I´m sure Angie and Brad would hate to read these spiteful comments. I thought we don´t want h8ters here. But we have them, more than I thought. I´m a big fan of Brad and Angie, but this is really spoiling this site for me. And it wasn´t just this thread, this subject keeps coming up, and if it´s not hatred, then it´s passive-aggressiveness. I think those posters will know who I mean..Luckily we have people out here like Mélodie who, despite being a huge Brad and Angie fan, has lots of intelligent and sympathetic things to say about a woman who was once a great love of Brad´s. The way some people make JA out to be, they must really hate Brad, too, because how could he ever have been with such a terrible woman for so long, if he isn´t terrible in some way, too? (and of course the h8ters will now say that Angie changed him….hahaha….rolling my eyes!).

Melodie, I’m not against you, I love you! I think you’re charming, and it’s fine with me if you’re a great fan of X. ;-) You’re not alone – besides Victoria, there are other X fans here.
I don’t hate X. I wish her all the best. I want her to have a hot boyfriend, win an Oscar, have a great family and kids – whatever she wants. And I’m not being sarcastic or facetious. Partly because I’m hoping she’ll leave Angelina alone after that, it’s true.
I have to say this latest stunt confirms for me that she’s not a very nice woman and she does not very nice things.
So since I accept you are her fan, I hope you accept that I am not her fan.

P.S. Melodie, it’s not a contradiction to wish X all the best AND at the same not be her fan. I don’t believe it’s a manichean world, I believe in dialectics. In other words, I don’t believe in black/white either/or. I believe in both/and, a range from white to shades of gray to black.

I visited Belgium with my mom in 1989 – beautiful country! We ate too many chocolates, of course. ;-) I wanted to buy lace but it was too expensive for my budget, lol. I was hoping to go to Europe again with hubby for a 2nd honeymoon but I’ve given up that idea – we won’t have the money.

Trying to get caught up and for some reason the clips wouldn’t play for me. But I read all the comments. I do believe that when Jen finds a good loving relationship she will be very happy. I am not sure that John Meyer is the right man for her.
