Angelina Jolie says Obama Win Would Be Nice - Not quite an endorsement, but good enough for me

Angelina Jolie isn’t committing herself to one particular presidential candidate at the moment, but some of her comments lead us to believe she’s leaning a little toward the left.

Asked if she finds Barack Obama and his background an example to her family, she replies, “Naturally that’s good, but it’s not a sufficient reason to vote for him.

“Obama fights for international justice, he wants to militarily intervene in cases of genocide, and close Guantanamo Bay. These are the things that could move me to vote for him, not his roots.”

It’s well known that Jolie’s father, Jon Voight has been stomping for Obama rival, John McCain – but given the history and rifts between the mega star, Jolie and her father – I would have to wonder if her decision doesn’t stem from some of those differences?

Does a celebrity endorsement have any bearing on which candidate you support? I do find it interesting at just how much a battle ensues close to elections – some singers not wanting their music played by one candidate or the other – or images and the sort. I do have to wonder, especially when the big guns like Oprah, Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie come out pitchin’ just how many people pay attention.
