Angelina Jolie's Pregnancy Style

14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals
Image details: 14th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards – Arrivals served by picapp.com

People.com has a great little photo essay up showing some photos of Angelina Jolie’s pregnancy style lately, starting from the “is she or isn’t she?!” days right up to the “you can’t miss that belly” shots from recent days. One thing is for sure, whether she was hiding it or displaying it, Angelina has style. I love some of the dresses she’s been wearing recently.

In somewhat related news, I also found this article discussing the fact that lately Hollywood has been actively trying to hide pregnancy during the early months, refusing to acknowledge questions about whether they’re expecting or not. They included Angelina Jolie in the article since she did indeed avoid all the speculation questions early on and actively wore things to try to mask her growing body. So much of a celebrity’s life is made public that I can’t blame them for not wanting to discuss it until it can’t be avoided anymore. On top of that, it’s just smart because the first trimester holds the highest amount of risk for miscarriages and who wants that to be public? Remember Lily Allen? I felt so bad for her because not only did she lose her baby, but she had to deal with her grief through the microscope of the media.

It’s interesting to read it, just because they discuss how the trends have changed since the 90s when Demi Moore posed naked and pregnant on a magazine cover.

hello sherry! i agree with you. i know a lot of “not famous” women who didn’t want to say they were pregnant until the end of the first trimester: unfortunately, nobody is under the lee of an accident.

i remember wel the sad story of lilly allen, poor girl!

when a celebrity like angie is pregnant, the papz follow her more than usual, the tabloid say something new about her pregnancy every week, etc. and i think it’s natural that a couple wants to share the happy event with family before sharing it with the wole world!

Most people I know kept pregnancy news private until after the 1st trimester. I always wonder why it is such a big deal for celebrities to make an “announcement/press release” about a private matter.

I don’t think she owe anything to the public to announce her pregnancy, I’m glad she was able to hide her pregnancy for a while (I’m sure for safety reason), after finally showing the baby bump we were at awe. How exciting that was & how happy I was & I’m sure the rest of their fans. Brad & Angie have this magic & aura, the best couple so far in my book.
I like most of her maternity dresses. Specially now that she starts wearing some colorful ones.
    God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.

Agree with Melodie, and like Irma said, a pregnant woman doesn’t owe anyone an explanation or an announcement about her pregnancy, although to be fair, since having a baby is often seen as good news, then prospective mothers often do make an announcement.

Unfortunately, in the case of celebrities like Angie who live under the the shadows of a hounding media/papz, they could hardly keep it a secret even if they want to. Besides, what with the chase the papz give many celebs these days, it really might not be safe to have them hounding her especially during the first trimester.

While we fans would like to keep abreast of what’s going on with them, I think few of us, if any, actually are upset with Angie for not making any confirmation until she showed up with her baby bump.

I think those people are being deliberatingly unreasonable, Isacutie.

Like Sherry and Melodie said it’s a matter of responsibility to yourself and family. Obgyn’s warn their patients not to reveal too early because of chances of miscarriage. Safety and self preservation!

After the 3months it’s considerated safer ground and it can be announced. Gwen Stefani has not officially released a statement “herself” to say that she is pregnant.

BOTH she and Angie have let their belly’s do the talking. Angie stopped covering it up after that 3month period. Victoria B wore a poncho most of her pregnancy, and I don’t actually remember them confirming Cruz imminent arrival.

Most people need to get over this idea that they are entitled to know everything about Brad and Angie immediately. Some of those who are upset h8te the fact that non their bad predictions have borne fruit.

Also those same complainers would have been the first to say she is seeking attention by announcing it. Look at what was said when she revealed her belly @ ISAs.

That’s true, BlessBrangelina, we aren’t at all entitled to know everything about the JPs, sad that others think that way. It’s sad and at times really maddening that there are those people who keep finding fault with them no matter what they do. But like you said, they are being deliberately unreasonable.
