Today’s Washington Post features an editorial written by Angelina Jolie. It’s about her recent visit to Iraq and the refugee crisis there.
The request is familiar to American ears: “Bring them home.”
But in Iraq, where I’ve just met with American and Iraqi leaders, the phrase carries a different meaning. It does not refer to the departure of U.S. troops, but to the return of the millions of innocent Iraqis who have been driven out of their homes and, in many cases, out of the country.

what a woman!
Be sure to check out the comments at the Washington Post…very good reading! Thank you Angie for doing your work and also, BP for supporting her as a human being with a mission. She travelled over there with baby on board. Amazing courage!
Like Pinky said, if this weren’t written by someone like Angelina, it probably wouldn’t have made it to print. So just another example of how Angelina is using her celebrity in a very good way. It is important for everyone to understand how these situations and conditions are occurring in many parts of the world, and Angie has done a pretty good job of bringing to light some of them. Detractors will keep saying she’s only doing for self-promotion, but they miss the point entirely. She is truly someone to admire. I just wish there were more celebrity like her.
I’ve read it, and I am simply amazed at the beauty and brains of our dear Angelina. If not for her, this article wouldn’t go maintream.
look how much in the world she’s done.
shes such a baeutiful person, inside & out.
