The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has announced that Angelina Jolie has gone to Iraq in relation to the humanitarian crisis there.
According to People:
The actress and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, 32, flew from New York to Syria on Monday. In Damascus, she visited a UNHCR registration center and spend hours talking to Iraqi refugees in their homes.
Tuesday’s journey took her to Iraq to meet with 1,200 refugees camped out in a makeshift outpost at the border, because they are unable to leave the country. She also witnessed dozens of Iraqis crossing into Syria.
Angelina was quoted as making the following statement:
“I have come to Syria and Iraq to help draw attention to the humanitarian crisis and to urge governments to increase their support for UNHCR and its partners. My sole purpose in both countries is to highlight the plight of those uprooted by the war in Iraq.”
Angie said that as far as the debate over Iraq’s future is concerned, the people living in humanitarian crisis must be taken into consideration.
She also met with some of the troops in the area.
Well, my goodness. I hope she stays safe. To me it’s just proof that Angie does more than just hand over money because it makes her “look good”. You don’t go to a country like IRAQ in this volatile time for a photo op, you do it because you believe in your work.
I hope she gets back soon!

UPDATE: According to OK magazine, Angelina has been accompanied by Mickey Brett, her bodyguard and all around superhero. Thanks for the tip, Andrea!

Andera,
what is your point? As you know Brad and Angie are not the only people who gave out thier kids photos to Mags. Tom cruise, shyrle crow, julia roberts , gwenth patrlow, donald trump and much more celbs give out thier babys photo’s to mags and most of those celbs gave the money to chariy. That means those mags treat these all celbs differntly? Is that is what you mean?

Lola, I believe that Andrea’s point was that since both magazines are owned by the same company, it means that they’re more authentic and believable than the random tabloids are, because they’re a company that Brad and Angelina trust. In other words, we can trust what they say because they’ve faithfully been fair and good to Brad and Angelina.
