Anime Series "Naruto Shippuden" Lands a Spot on Disney XD

Disney has made a deal with Viz Media to bring something all new to Disney XD. The anime series “Naruto Shippuden” will begin airing on the channel starting next month. This is really something quite new for the Disney audience but the original “Naruto” series has been airing on Cartoon Network since 2005 and has done well with audiences.

Subtitled episodes of “Naruto” were extremely popular, bringing in some of the highest streaming numbers, on both Hulu and Joost earlier this year.

“Disney XD is a growing destination for our key demographic, boys 6-14, and we’re looking forward to bringing the adventures of ‘Naruto Shippuden’ to our lineup,” said Tracy McAndrew, director, acquisitions and co-productions, Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group.

Sound off in the comments and let me know if an Anime series has any interest to you what-so-ever.

It’s interesting to see that Disney XD of all things signed on to Naruto Shippuden. I’ve been reading the manga, and it get extremely dark (at some points) as the story progresses. It’s full of morals though, so I think parents will approve of their children watching it. I’m quite thrilled to see that it’s coming to television. Question is though: are they going to dub it? Or leave it subbed?
