After the obligatory Ams is crazy, Dominique is a diva, Fatima is bitchy and Lauren is punk introductions, the girls get sent to a fire house. They have thirty seconds to change. The girls then have to walk-off in front of the firemen. Lauren is predictably awful. Katarzyna sexes it up, Dominique is pretty bad, Fatima is hilariously bad, Aimee stomps, Claire’s walk is fantastic, Whitney’s is pretty good and the res tI can’t remember. Oh, except for Amis. Who SKIPS. Down the runway. Yup, she’s totally top model material.
Here, we also learn that Miss J hates Fatima. Bitch shoulda changed her shoes like she was told!
When the girls get back to the house, we learn that Aimee is modest and fairly conservative and is really uncomfortable being naked in front of the other girls. She thought she told everyone, except Marvita walked in on her. Whitney stepped in and this somehow turned into a fight between Whitney and Fatima. How this happened, I have no clue.
Whitney’s feisty. I hope she sticks around a while so she’ll get more screen time.
After the commecials, the girls head to church to prefrom in a fashion show! This week’s challenge is about changing perfectly backstage. Jaslene and Seventeen editor Anne Shoket are there to judge the walk-off. Standing next to Anne, Jaslene looks short. How tall is Anne anyways?
Also, did Dominique’s hair change color between scenes? It looks much blonder now!
During the fashion show, Whitney flashes the crowd, Fatima miss-buttons her outfit, Stacey-Ann “works it”, Aimee looks “sweet”, Katarzyna does what she does best and Lauren is a hopeless mess. You have to love the constant pans to Miss J’s facial expressions during all this.
After the show, Jaslene and Anne critique each girl. Jaslene was way nicer and honest than the previews made her out to be. Silly previews! She’s totally right about Lauren. And if Lauren really wants it, she should be praciticing her walk all the damn time. It looks like it sank in though. There’s tears and everything.
Katarzyna wins! She gets to shoot a Seventeen advertorial for Lot 29 with Jaslene. She chooses Marvita and Amis as her pals to shoot with.
The photo shoot this week was wearing meat in a meat locker. I’m trying to find the social or fashion message in this shoot and I just can’t. Amis, Aimee, Whitney and Fatima struggled. Claire, Marvita and Lauren appear to rock it, but we won’t know for sure until panel!!
Why is Tyra singing the judges intros? Is she that sick of introducing them each week?
Aimee and Fatima have the worst pictures, Whitney, Anya and Lauren have the best and everyone else falls somewhere in between. The judges comment on Amis’s jacket and headband, which, while inappropriate, felt like the were making drama out of nearly-nothing. It almost makes me wish Allison was back.
Anya gets called first and the last two standing are Fatima and Amis. Fatima nearly breaks down before her name is called, she really wants this thing.
Amis heads home, perky as ever.

well the meatpacking photoshoot is actually good i seen this in magazine once
Dominique’s hair changes color because essentially she didn’t get the actual hair Tyra wanted for her. This is sort of alluded to in the last episode where Tyra says something to the effect of “Dominque, you’re going to get the hue I wanted you to have.”
What did you think of Whitney standing up for Aimee?
I’m a big fan of Whitney, poor Aimee just wants to be left alone and Marvita was making a huge “we need to talk” deal out of nothing. They have 3 bathrooms for god’s sake! Fatima seems to just like to nag at anyone and everyone. First she’s nagging about Amis, then Whitney….she just loves drama.
If Whitney and Fatima had a catfight, who would win?
Whitney wouldn’t back down. I also love that she’s feisty, and that she stands up for other people. She could easily bring Fatima to tears.

Claire is great, one of my favorites, and in my opinion the best walker.
Was the meat photo shoot provocative? Or pointless?
It was pointless, I don’t think anyone would actually do a shoot like that, but it did serve a purpose in putting the girls out of their comfort zone and seeing how they’d react in extreme situations.

Lauren. I was a big fan of Claire’s, too.
Did the girls and the judges overreact to Amis’s outfit?
Yeah it wasn’t that big of a deal. In the past it seems like Tyra and company have just said, “You don’t look like a model right now” and given the girl in question another chance, like with Kartzyana (sp?) and her hair. But Amis’s problems were deeper, like her skipping walk which was a total disregard for what she was supposed to be doing and showed a lack of respect for Ms. Jay and a lack of committment to the whole modeling thing. I think it was the best choice to send her home.
What did you think of Whitney standing up for Aimee?
I like Whitney. She takes no prisoners, and besides-why was Marvita getting so het up about the fact a girl wanted to take a shower. Espeically if there are three bathrooms? Alright. Just let the BO flow. That is so much better than 5-15 minutes without a third toilet?
If Whitney and Fatima had a catfight, who would win?
Whitney would kick ass. Fatima has a lot more hair now to grab and pull, and I have a feeling Whitney can hold up to the pain.

Claire. I reallllllllly hope she isn’t the favorite that flops. I really like her.

Pointless. I mean, as a test, it is good for the girls-but for fasion or art….only Lauren’s would stand out.

Lauren’s. That girl rocked the photo shoot. She needs to learn to walk. Like seriously.

The girls, not so much, because they watched her sleep to the last moment and put it on.
And the judges.eh. They needed to pick on something, and she was just so campy. Personality and all.

“I think it’s fine. Fatima has no business getting on someone, just because Whitney agrees with Aimee”

“Whitney, but I have a feeling Fatima would fight extra-dirty. I still think Whitney would take her.”
Who has the best walk so far? “Claire or Katarzyna”

“Somewhere in between, much closer to pointless. What exactly was the meaning? Was it as Paulina said? Selling meat/models? Either way, Mr. Jay has NO business art-directing a photo shoot and should stop immediately. Last week, I had hope for normal photo shoots with the lingerie line. Dashed this week.”
Whose photo was your favorite? “Lauren’s, hands down. Hope she stays around, despite the worst walk I’ve ever seen. Whitney’s is a close second.”
Did the girls and the judges overreact to Amis’ outfit? “No. She looked like a fool. The judges see the girls here as if they were going on a go-see. If she dressed like that, she wouldn’t get hired. She wasn’t presentable and agents would be nervous to send her out to castings. So her elimination (and clothing bashing) was totally deserved.”
What did you think of Whitney standing up for Aimee? I thought that it was really cute, haha. Whitney was just trying to help someone who just didn’t want to be involved & as usual, Martiva was exploding about nothing.
If Whitney and Fatima had a catfight, who would win? My guess is Whitney – Fatima looks like she’d be the type to back down easily, yet Whitney somehow looks fierce.
Who has the best walk so far? I actually really like Katarzyna’s walk. Claire’s is really good, but I still prefer Katarzyna.
Was the meat photo shoot provocative? Or pointless? I thought it was gross, and really un-entertaining, but it still served a purpose. They needed to show the girls that they’re gonna have to do stuff that they don’t always WANT to do & they better bring it & make the best out of every situation they are put in as a model.
Whose photo was your favorite? I really loved Lauren’s. If she can just up her walk a little bit, she’d rock this season. <3
Did the girls and the judges overreact to Amis’s outfit? Um, yes & no. Yes, because they are always telling them to be themselves, and never change for anybody & then they are giving them heck for wearing a silly headband & such. On the other side though, as a model, you should really put SOME effort into it. They are trying to explain to the girls that they can’t go out like that when they are trying to get jobs, or show up at a photoshoot like that – you have to always look good & presentable. You can’t look like you just rolled out of bed, whether or not you just did.
