Nananana nananana. So catchy. After five weeks I still love the new intro!
The show opens with the old standby od Dominique loving herself. It’s annoying because we only ever see it at the very beginning. Can’t they find more original problems to open with? Other things to not in the beginning: Marvita is like a runaway bride. She’s had a hard past and doesn’t trust people. But according to Amis, she’s a total sweetheart. Whitney’s got a huge ego. She’s probably the most confident and vivacious plus-sized model since Toccara.
The girls get some Tyra Mail and head into an unlit, creepy warehouse. If they weren’t surrounded by television cameras, I’d suggest that doing a thing would be unsafe. But they are! Because Benny Ninja arrives! Does this mean it’s pose-off time?
It is! With Vendela! She looks like a giant next to Benny Ninja. (I googled this during the break and according to IMDB, she’s only 5’8″). The girls take turns doing catalogue, commercial and couture poses for Benny and Vendela. Whitney whines about how people are calling her Anna Nicole. I never thought about that before, but now I can totally see it.
Back at the house, Whitney and Dominique fight over the phone. Whitney made a phone list, see? And you can only use your phone during your alloted time, se? And Dominique missed her time. So she can’t talk to her kid. So this evolves into a fight about the phone, then about the level of Dominique’s education, then about how Whitney is racist.
I’m not sure how these education/racism claims arose, but I think both are really unfair. I wonder if they edited something more substantial out that explains all this better.
Also, this phone list is confusing me. While they need to share the phone, and should do so fairly, do they really need alloted, uncompromisable time slots?
After the break, the racist argument continues. Until Tyra Mail arrives!
The girls head downtown (how can they use a hummer limo so soon after doing a “green” season?), where they are really going to pose-off in teams. On the streets. This would make an excellent street-style dance-off movie, not unlike Step Up 2 The Streets or Stomp The Yard.
Stacey-Ann rocks, Fatima and Whitney really get at each other. Team B with Marvita, Stacey-Ann, Claire and Whitney wins! They get to go to the sawg tent and pick out some swag. But one winner is super-special and that person is Claire!
Claire was the best poser and she wins the challenge! Benny Ninja calls her “amazing!” She’s totally my favorite.
At the house, Fatima is all “mature” and “over” Marvita’s “ghetto” act. This girl is getting on my nerves. She’s gorgeous and has the right face and body to model, but it’s clear she doesn’t know what to so with it and doesn’t have the right attitude.
The photo shoot this week is a close-up. I really like close-ups because it shows who can really model. This close-up isn’t any ordinary close-up though, it’s going to involve paint on their faces!
Dominique shows a softer side, Anya has dead eyes, Katarzyna is sophisticated, Fatima shows some hair because she doesn’t shave, Claire looks beautiful, Lauren’s photo rocked, Whitney needs confidence, Marvita looks sad, Stacey-Ann’s photo is her best yet (but she needs to watch her neck) and Aimee is random.
After the criticisms, it’s time for the judges to deliberate. Stacey-Ann’s rocking photo meant she gets called first, leaving Whitney and Marvita in the bottom two. Marvita and her horsetail weave get sent home. I liked Marvita, and her exit speech was eloquent. Good luck Marvita!

As for the shoe incident, I think Tyra was just joking when she said that she stole Lauren’s shoes. She was teasing her, IMO.
What do you think of Benny Ninja? – i think hes just so cute and fun. i agree, i don’t really know how he “taught” the girls about posing, but that was prob edited
Is Whitney’s phone list fair?- definitely. every season there’s some drama over so-and-so hogging the phone. Dominique is a mother, she should be responsible enough to look after herself and know when it’s her time to use the phone. I think Whitney got unfairly blamed for that.
Did you like the photo shoot concept?- yeah it was cool. could have done without the green paint dripping out of everyone’s noses like snot though! but yes definitely cool.
Who’s the most annoying girl left?- Dominique #1 and Fatima #2. Dominique is such a diva and her 3rd person bit is tired. Fatima needs to lay off everyone. She hasn’t said anything positive about a single person in the house yet. She keeps dissing Marvita for being “ghetto.” What’s wrong with that? She’s being herself, and personally I think Marvita ended up being one of the nicest and most fun girls in the house. I don’t think Whitney’s annoying at all, she just stands up for herself and won’t back down! (what’s wrong with that, really?)
Should Fatima been better prepared (in terms for the photo shoot?- um, yeah I would think being cleaned up is a given when you’re on a photo shoot. You never know what’s gonna be exposed!
Did Marvita deserve to go home?- no I was shocked, but I agree she kind of gave up this week and didn’t step up. This early in the competition I don’t think it’s fair to send someone home for having one bad week. Down the road, sure, but not yet.
What do you think of Benny Ninja?
He fits right in to the modelling world and looks like a lot of fun to work with.

Yes, I think it’s fair and I also agree that it wasn’t her responsibility to let the next person in line know that she’s up for her turn. She’s not around to police it. In other words, you snooze, you lose.

Who’s the most annoying girl left? Fatima, Whitney, Dominique or someone else? I have a soft spot for Fatima for some reason (although it’s fading), and I kind of like Whitney. Dominique’s third-person comments are a bit annoying, so I’d say her.

Did Marvita deserve to go home? Based on her performance this week, yes. She failed at the challenge and the photo shoot.

What do you think of Benny Ninja? He’s getting boring. I fail to see how he’s an expert on posing just because he used to vogue. Also, he didn’t really seem to explain the 3 C’s, just named them and told the girls to go at it.
Is Whitney’s phone list fair?
Yes, it makes perfect sense. Also I don’t think it’s *hers*, she just seems to be the person who organized it. I had to share a bathroom once with four girls and we needed a shower schedule, I can’t imagine sharing a phone with a dozen girls.
Did you like the photo shoot concept? I think it made some really nice pictures.

Whitney isn’t necessarily annoying, she just has a strong personality. SHe seems perfectly plesant if not provoked. Fatima is realizing she’s not all-that like she originally thought, she just seems to pick fights and nag on whoever. Dominique needs to get over herself and law off the tanning bed.

I think it would have been common sense for her to shave, but it shouldn’t have been that big of a deal.

I liked Lauren’s the best, wasn’t too big on Anya’s.

Yes. I liked her more in this episode than ever, but she had developed a defeatist attitude.

Can you also put up everyone’s pics from the photoshoot like you’ve done previously? I love comparing them like that! I would also be interested in seeing the close up, unretouched photoshoot from cycle 3– both the retouched and unretouched shots. I’ve been trying to find them everywhere!!
