In the “last time on” segment, Tyra doesn’t say anything about Erin until she lists the remaining girls. I wonder if that means anything?
After commercial break, we learn even Erin is amazed she’s still around. So is Nicole, who thinks Erin’s too concerned with what other people think of her. Nicole is completely in love with modeling and Laura wants to model so she can provide for her family. There’s no time for dramatic backstories though, because it’s time to hula!
The girls learn the basics of both traditional hula and hip hop hula. Each girl will need to choreograph a traditional hula solo that will tell their own story. After practicing, Miss J shows up and tells the girls the winner gets a 5-day trip to the Four Seasons in Maui. That’s a pretty sweet prize.
Since we are down to four girls, everyone is getting more narration time. The more screen time Nicole gets, the more I like her. The more screen time Jen gets, the less I like her. It’s like she’s trying to be a character or a personality. So much squawking!
Jen does is the best quote of the night when she declares “I bet Laura know how to get freaky in the club!” The judges agree and choose Laura as the winner! She chooses Jen as her vacationing partner.
The photo shoot is inspired by Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes. The girls get excited by the concept, but Jay bursts their bubble quickly when he announces that this week is a double elimination.
I like the idea of no final three because I find the final episode in most cycles to be rushed. They should dedicate an hour to the final three and an hour to the final two. At least this way, we get a full hour for the top two.
During the photo shoot, Jen appears to struggle, Nicole is amazing, Laura couldn’t pull it all together and Erin refuses to flirt with the camera until she sings “those pop songs teenagers listen to” in her head. The photographer is very blunt and doesn’t encourage the girls much. I know it’s not his job, but it affects the vibe of the shoot.
At panel, the judges love Erin’s photo, are meh on Jen’s and Laura’s, and like Nicole’s. Nicole is called first, leaving Jen, Erin and Laura on the chopping block. Tyra calls Laura’s name, sending Jen and Erin home.

What do you think of having no final three? Fine with it. It always seems rushed with just one hour. When it was UPN, the finale was two hours so you had more time.
Did you like the photo shoot concept? I liked the concept but not execution which is how I’ve felt since they got to Hawaii.
Whose photo was the best? Nicole’s The worst? I didn’t like Laura’s face in hers as she looked stunned and she looked short. Jen looked like she belonged in a men’s mag and not a Hawaiian goddess.
Did Laura’s outfit deserve a makeover? No, considering Tyra was wearing another bad jumpsuit she’s got no business criticizing someone else’s fashion sense.
Did Nicole deserve the first call-out? Yes.
Did Laura snub Erin in the call-out or was that a weird edit? Eh, weired edit and most of the girls haven’t wanted to hang out with Erin when it came to challenges so there’s that.
Do you agree with the final two? Yes. I would have preferred Erin but she never got her redemption arc with Nicole which would have made it the best final two as far as editorial models go, ever. But Laura has been consistent and appeals more to the CG/17 mode. I’m just happy we didn’t get stuck with wonky eyed, open mouthed Jen. She’s an actress and not a model. There have to be better choices for an Asian winner on this show.
What did you think of the hip hop hula challenge?
I thought it was pretty cool, actually. Again, it was one of those “Cycle 13″ moments that felt so classic ANTM to me, unlike the last few cycles. Ever since maybe Saleisha, each cycle has gotten more and more annoying. This was fun & cute.
Whose hula solo was the best?
The one that stands out to me in my memory is Jen’s. When she went first I thought, oh she’s got this.
If you won the trip, who would you take along?
Probably Laura. God shes adorable.
What do you think of having no final three?
Well, at judging, I was thinking, this is so unfair because sometimes its clear who ought to go home, but this time, if one person had been eliminated, it would have been difficult enough to pick, let alone 2! I was rooting for Jen or Laura, and I knew from spoilers who would make it but i was still sad for Jennifer. But I agree, the idea of an hour for the final two is awesome.
Did you like the photo shoot concept?
I did, but the photos werent what i expected. Jay was talking about water shooting up behind them on the rocks, and I didnt see that durin the shoot, so I thought maybe it would be photoshopped in… the pics would have looked amazing with huge waves behind them.

I didnt like Nicole’s, which made me so confused because during her shoot I saw so many things she did that I thought they’d pick a photo from, and they picked THAT!? Whats wrong with you, Tyra? Best would be Laura’s I think.
Did Laura’s outfit deserve a makeover?
compared to the other girls at judging she didnt look great (i was in love with Jen’s dress) but it wasnt necessary to change it. It made no difference
Did Nicole deserve the first call-out?
i think not. i think laura did. challenge winner and amazing picture? HELLO? this cycle seems like they hand out prizes for challenges and then never speak of them again as if they’re taboo. at judging they used to announce the winner again and clap.
Did Laura snub Erin in the call-out or was that a weird edit?
both. it probably wqasnt that big of a deal that she didnt hug her too, but they didnt have to show it.
Do you agree with the final two?
welll.. yes. i can see why the judges & everyone else love nicole… but i would have much rather seen Jen win the competition than Nicole… but down to Laura and Jen, I’d say Laura. Between anyone else and Laura, I still say Laura!!

This sort of reminds me of AusNTM how last season’s final three photo shoot was at the beach with crashing waves and long flowing dresses. Not exactly an original concept, but I still got the same vibe. I think AusNTM is a bit edgier and actually had a successful winner (Alice), which ANTM is trying to imitate. Like having only a final two for the last episode, which AusNTM has.
I’m also hoping Nicole doesn’t win so she at least has a chance of having a successful career. I’m sure Laura will be happy with Seventeen magazine.
Nicole ROCKED the photoshoot. Here picture was amazing!! However, I felt that Tyra should have selected a better photo of Nicole. Her photoshoot went so well but the photo Tyra chose wasn’t the best one. NICOLE FOR ANTM!
I am happy with this seasons finalists (blech finally bratty Erin is gone). I was just kinda surprised that Jen wasn’t in the top 2 because an Asain girl never won before.

Did you like the photo shoot concept? It was good and I like the photographer, he was tough and honest and it’s like preview for the girls to go into the real world. They can’t always have agreeable easy shoot.
Whose photo was the best? The worst? Once agian I think that Tyra shouldn’t choose the panel photos, just lived it to the photographer, the shoot and the final photos totally diagree with each other. Nicole and Erin perform the best, the other two were kind of blah.

glad wonky eye went home. i knew she wouldn’t but erin should have stayed. laura looked cross eyed in her picture and i have never liked her or her look or her annoying “i’m just from kentucky” stupid self. erin’s pic was gorgeous and she also should have won the challenge…if nicole doesnt win i will be pissed.
HAHA, it’s about time Jennifer went home. I’ve been waiting since before the season even started for that moment. But it breaks my heart to see a girl with such a talent go home. Love you Erin. <333

i must say that the laura over erin edit was odd…but erin had been in the bottom two three times in a row…and she didn’t switch her poses up much…laura’s photo was awesome…but erin’s face was great…dunno. i guess tyra wanted to tell erin that though she had a rockin pic, her past performances were blech near to the end.
laura has NO fco. how weird is that? she was snubbed in the cirque du soleil one.
i like the top two. laura is great for seventeen and covergirl but nicole is sexy editorial.
