Be sure to clear off your schedule tonight (Tuesday, September 2) for the two-hour premiere of the highly anticipated 90210 series premiere “We’re not in Kansas Anymore” on The CW, starting at 7 p.m. CST.
For once, you will be able to make up your own mind about a new show without thinking about what critics have already said, because The CW did not allow the press to review the show in advance.
While the show is focused on Annie and her adopted brother Dixon (Shenae Grimes and Tristan Wilds) when they move to Beverly Hills with their parents, mom Debbie (Lori Loughlin) and dad Harry (Rob Estes), there is a lot of talk about the Beverly Hills, 90210 alumni that will be on the show — Shannen Doherty (Brenda Walsh) and Jennie Garth (Kelly Taylor).
Kelly works as a guidance counselor at the high school, and Brenda is coming back to her alma mater for a short stint to help with a school musical
In “We’re Not in Kansas Anymore,” Harry returns from Kansas to his childhood home of Beverly Hills to take the job as the new principal of West Beverly Hills High School to care for his mother, former television star Tabitha Wilson (Jessica Walter).
On their first day at school, Annie and Dixon meet Ethan (Dustin Milligan), the star lacross player she met a few summers ago; Naomi (AnnaLynn McCord), the spoiled rich girl; Silver (Jessica Stroup), who gossips about Annie on her blog; and Navid (Michael Steger), editor of the school’s video broadcast.
Up against repeats on most networks except for NBC’s America’s Got Talent, the new 90210 should do well in viewership for the premiere.
Are you going to watch 90210? Let me know what you think after you watch it tonight? Was it worth the hype? Will you continue to watch the show each week?
